This is by far the best book I have ever read in my life. I was so moved by the writing of McCarthy that I have been been stuck searching for another book to read. Every book I read does not compare to The Road. Does anyone have any suggestions on a book similar to this one?? I need something that makes me can't wait to read the next page consumed with the horror of what I am reading.

Hi Sarah,
If you want to stick with McCarthy, pick up Blood Meridian next. There's plenty of horror in it!

Poetic prose like Cormac's The Road:
* Ron Hansen's MARIETTE IN ECTASY
* Cecilia Dart-Thornton's The Well of Tears
I'm always looking for similar poetic fiction. Very hard to find.
Have come across some but either it was a horror story or
contained lewdness and that is against my morals.
