Charles Ardai interviews Lawrence Block

Charles, I saw on one of the Bouchercon reports that you interviewed Mr. Block. Can you give us some of the highlights of that?

Re: Charles Ardai interviews Lawrence Block

I did; it was a real honor, since Block is probably my favorite living crime writer.  It's a bit hard to summarize, though.  We talked about his early days writing paperbacks at the rate of one/month; we talked about how he made the transition from writing one-off standalone novels to writing series (which is what he's best known for today); we talked about each of his series (Tanner, Scudder, Bernie Rhodenbarr, Keller, even Martin Ehrengraf); we talked about his penchant for travel; we talked about noir poetry.  It was a wide ranging interview.  The good news is that someone filmed it, and I believe a video of the interview should be showing up online sometime soon.  If it does and I hear about it, I'll tell everyone here about it...
