Since 1997, you’ve been coming to to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: SEIZED, by Max Hardberger, Chapters 5-8

It seems, when you want something badly enough, it does not matter, what kind of

weather is at hand, epsecially when you're trying desperately to support a family.

If you like excitement, adventure and never a dull moment this is what you need.

What you do is you put a piece of rubber (or even a slab of bacon!) against the hull from the inside of the ship, inside the "double-bottom tanks" that line the hull at the bottom, and you force it against the steel with braces or even a car jack

Haha, bacon! Holy crap!

Makes you wonder why more ships don't just dissolve in the middle of the ocean.

Also, loved Annie's Revenge, it was hilariously vicious.

Max, you live quite an adventurous life! The chapter of Annie's Revenge made me very nervous. I did like how Annie got her revenge. You need friends like her in your line of work.

I was worried for you a few times between the poor conditions of the ships, the dangerous ports, and the unpredictable weather. Every chapter I would start relaxed and by the end of the chapter I would be on the edge of my seat! You did a great job telling your story!
