I feel Don Juan is looking for validation from Alma. He has known her since youth and he know he doesn't have to spell everything out for her. He knows she understands him and his past. He goes to her to find out if she believes he could be faithful to one woman, to get a woman's point of view. Alma wants him to love her but if she can't have his fidelity she'll take what she can from him, namely lessons on sex and freedom. I think their relationship is the closest either comes to friendship. They are comfortable with each other and can tell the truth to each other without it ruining the friendship.
