I know what I liked best about the poem and about revisiting it... But I'd like to hear from you guys -- what did you like best about this experience with Beowulf?

I found Beowulf very readable. I used Beowulf as a springboard to learning more about the customs and history of that period in time. I found the history of the migrations of the nordic and germanic people quite interesting.

There is an illustrated edition of Seamus Heaney's translation (a coffee table sort of book) which is worth your looking at.
