Hi! I'm a high school English teacher in Kansas who very proudly tells students that I was sort of, kind of, almost related to you! You used to be related to BK by marriage. Well, BK was married to DK, and DK is my aunt. I LOVE DK and still call BK "Uncle B" when I see him. I have always valued that shaky, weak link to you; it's my ONLY claim to fame!
Do you feel like the publishing environment today is friendlier for a woman writing about home/relationship/family issues than it was when you first started? I'm asking because I can remember my mom reading your books and others when I was a teen, but I feel like today I am blessed to have access to at least 10 times the titles Mom had to choose from. I do my part to work my way through as many as I can, much to the chagrin of my family, and I have a blast doing it!
Thank you, and keep writing!

I just want you to know that you sparked a creativity in me as a child that no other author could. You inspired me to write short stories while I was growing; you even inspired me to create my own recipe for my own frecklejuice which I still have! Thank you for being a part of my childhood. I couldn't agree more that I've walked away from your books wondering about the characters. I felt the same way about Summer Sisters as an adult and I do hope you find the inspiration to write another adult novel one day! Thank you again!!
