About the Artists

Alex Ross Looking back, it makes perfect sense that Alex Ross would become one of the world’s most pre-eminent and well-respected comic book artists.  Acclaimed for the photorealism of his work, Ross is by far the most prominent comic book painter in the industry and is known for his love of the vintage looks of classic characters and the more mythic elements of the superheroes.

In the past ten years, Ross has done much work for the industry’s two largest and most historically important publishing houses Marvel and DC Comics, but Ross is also the co-creator of Project Superpowers, an original series with publisher Dynamite Entertainment that explores superhero mythology.

Phillip Hester has been writing and drawing comics for over two decades, beginning while still a student at the University of Iowa. After establishing himself in the world of indie comics with the Eisner Award nominated series The Wretch, Phil broke into the mainstream with a long run as penciller on DC’s Swamp Thing. He also drew Kevin Smith’s revival of Green Arrow with long time inker Ande Parks, also for DC. He wrote The Coffin with artist Mike Huddleston, and Firebreather with artist Andy Kuhn, now a television feature for Cartoon Network. Phil lives in rural Iowa with his wife and two children.

"Open only to legal residents of one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia"

Should be open to fans of Green Hornet, period. Rather than being open to people who may not even be fans, but just want free stuff, and happen to live in a certain place....

Agree regarding US only. Firstly, it should be more clearly advertised of that fact, instead of having to go to the rules (sheesh, B&N gets plenty of non-US commerce!), and secondly, if this forum is read internationally, if B&N does business internationally, then all competitions should be INTERNATIONAL.

These guys do great work...The Green Arrow revival thing that Smith/Hester did was well done IMHO.  As for Alex Ross...dude's got an _insane_ artistic ability - first time i read Kingdom Come, it just blew me away - art and writing!
