Welcome to our third First Look Book Club!

We're thrilled to announce that our March discussion will feature The Sister, a haunting and compelling first novel by Poppy Adams that doesn't hit store shelves until May. Participants in the First Look Book Club will receive a free advance reading copy of The Sister, plus the exclusive opportunity to discuss the book with the author and other readers.

If you have not enrolled, go to this thread for all the details. Quantities are limited, so sign up today.

When you receive your enrollment confirmation by PM, go to Karen’s Welcome thread and be sure to introduce yourself to your fellow readers and First Look readers.

The ARCs will be mailed the week of February 18, but for those of you who can’t wait to get the book, you can find an excerpt here.

From our earlier discussions, we heard what you had to say about laying out a reading schedule. Karen will post one below so you can know what to expect. Be sure to check this thread often to stay up-to-date on news about this club.

Chapters 10 through 13 will follow on March 7th.

Enrollment for The Sister is now closed.

If you have submitted your registration, please check your PM for your confirmation –- and then be sure to come back to introduce yourselves. Your books will be mailed later this month, we’ll be sure to alert you when they begin to ship.

In the meanwhile, there are many other great book discussions happening in our book clubs. Look around, you're sure to find one you'll love.

A little bit of news this morning.

The books have started to ship. Domestic packages are going UPS ground, while those going to a po box will go USPS, and international packages will go UPS worldwide express.

Expect to receive your books next week or by the start of the following week. And feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Now that the books are being delivered, we will lock the board on Monday.

It'll operate a little differently from previous First Look Book Clubs. The board will be visible to everyone, however, only those who are enrolled will be able to post in the discussion board -- just be sure you are signed in. Feel free to PM me if you have any trouble with it.

Just an update to our schedule, in case you haven't seen it posted in the Chapters 17-19 thread:

*As you might have guessed, we'll be discussing Chapter 20 with the rest of "Monday." I apologize for the confusion – the T.O.C. I was looking at when I drew up the schedule was a little off.

However, since I'm sure you're anxious to get into it, I will post the "Monday" thread (so, chapters 20-22) tomorrow, a day early.

Poppy Adams will be joining us on Monday and I just want to make sure you all understand that she'll be here really to field your questions about the book, the process, her previous work as a documentarian, etc.

I know some of you feel really strongly about certain elements of the book but let's be sure to make the most of our time with Poppy by keeping comments constructive and sticking to questions rather than offering your reviews of the book on that thread. (Don't worry, you'll have a chance to submit your reviews soon!)

The thread for your questions for Poppy will go up shortly -- stay tuned!
