What are your favorite Holiday season books to share with children and families?
Parents, children, teachers, librarians, others--everyone, please weigh in!
Let's share across traditions as well. For example, if you come from the Christian faith tradition, what books have you found particularly helpful in understanding more about Hannukah or Kwanzaa, and vice versa?

One of my favorite books to read for the holidays is A Blue's Clues Holiday. Even though this book is geared towards younger children I still have not packed it away. This book was a wonderful addition to our home library as it featured all the different winter holidays and did so in a way that parents could additionally talk to their children more about each one. The book easily showed the meaning of each holiday and what is celebrated during that holiday. To this day my daughter (10 years old) knows and appreciates the different celebrations and beliefs through the winter holiday season because of this book.

I just read
Matchless : I never knew this story before reading Maguire's "re-illumination." I think that it is sad, but also is a story of hope.
