Re: AUGUST FEATURE #1: Sorry Please Thank You by Charles Yu

Back in 2010, Charles Yu's critically acclaimed debut novel How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe made waves throughout the SF community and Yu became a household name (seemingly) overnight. This release, a collection of 13 short stories, has gotten some head-scratching reviews: from LJ – "Those not bothered by diverse writing styles will find reading Yu to be an exciting adventure" and from PW – "Those not bothered by diverse writing styles will find reading Yu to be an exciting adventure."

I'm intrigued.

Well, this was a tough read – I loved some of the stories and was really disappointed with others. but, bottom line, I love Yu's courage – that is having the fortitude to try something wildly different.
