Re: [Fun and Games] Questions.

If you spend the day with one of your all time favorite fictional heroes, who would it be? Any genre.

wow ...I almost decided that this was too hard, but I have an answer.
I would ask Gandalf to take me to see the elves!:smileyhappy:

question: If you could live in the world of any book, where would you move to?

I think I will have to go with J.R.R. Tolkien. I would love to have him read to me "the Simarillion" or really any of his books, although this one is my favorite. I know I am a bit old for bed time stories. Heehee.

If you could be a villain or hero in your favorite author's book, what would you be?

I would have to say either a Wizard or a Knight of the Cross from Dresden Files. (One of my favorites).

Ok. If you could have one peice of currently non existant Science Fiction technology, what would it be?

I was really young, but I think it was either Watership down, or Lion the Witch and and the Wardrobe series.
Question: If you have ever read a book that you thought was terrible, but, later, read it again and thought wow, this is great--what do you think changed to bring this new view.

For me it's usually because I understand it better. I don't reread very often but I have with some of the ones I read when I was younger, like as a teenager in school. There were some books that I didn't care for, mainly because they were homework! When I read them again as an adult I usually enjoyed them a lot more.

Question: How about the opposite? If you liked a book but later read it again and didn't care for it at all, why do you think your opinion changed?

Re: [Fun and Games] Questions.

Be warned, I'm bored so I'm going through and reading some old threads that I may work a little necromancy on.

Surprisingly, The Hobbit. Read it countless times since I was about 8 or 9 and now I'm almost 42. The last time, it wasn't a bad book, it just didn't do much for me. Just not the depth there of LOTR and other works. Definitely shows its limitations as a children's version of the world. Still, looking forward immensely to the movies.

Question: Poe, Lovecraft, and Philip K. Dick have all been recognized with volumes in the Library of America series. If you were the publishers, what American author of the fantastic and/or science fiction would you pick for inclusion in the series and why?
