Re: SEPTEMBER FEATURE #2: The Black Prism by Brent Weeks

I SO didn't want to hear that! I guess I'll just have to reread The Black Prism and his Night. Angel Trilogy to console myself.

I will eventually reread The Black Prism before the next book comes out. Brent Weeks follows the same story telling structure as his Night Angel Trilogy. You can even relate some of the characters to his last series. I was expecting a time skip in the first book, but maybe we will see one in the next book.

I don't think I'll have to re-read the book. All I need to remember is that the kid been told, in a note from his mother, that the Black Prism violated her, and the kid's pledged to avenge his mother by killing the Prism. Meanwhile, the Black Prism has to deal with the loss of one of his powers which he believes is the beginning of the end. Meanwhile there's that uprising, his brother and the fact that his love, the female protagonist, knows about the fraud. Of course, there's also the issue of the hidden child.

Looks like 'The Blinding Knife' will be released in early September. Rising Shadow is showing a September 1 release date, (see The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks - Risingshadow), whereas Amazon is showing a September 11 release date.

Also note, Week's web site has an excerpt from the book. Just click on this link: find an excerpt here.

Thanks for a heads-up on the excerpt.  I loved the first book and I am so looking forward to the next!.
