The Hunger Games movie

Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) will play the role of Katniss in The Hunger Games, based on the bestselling novels by Suzanne Collins, the Wrap reported. Lionsgate "plans the franchise as a trilogy which will include The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay. Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) is directing the film, which will debut on March 23, 2012."

If the movies are as action-packed as the books, they will be a huge hit. Too bad the actress doesn't have dark brown hair like Katniss, but there's an uncompromising boldness about her face that I like.

I hope the movies can match the intensity in the books. I hope they match the hair color. I get an image of a character in my mind and it can make it hard to watch the movie version.

Re: The Hunger Games movie

I think I heard that Gale & Peeta where picked now too.

I have to say I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with these books in the way of film.  I know the author is working with the film industry to try to keep to the story as close as possible.  But we all know they aren't exact.  But, I do hope it is done amazingly. :smileyhappy:

Oh, thanks Dalnewt!  It's been crazy here.  I think things are going to start slowing down for us now that we are mostly in the new house. :smileyhappy:

I've missed stopping by here.  I'm trying to get the time in to stop by more often. :smileyhappy:

Thank you!
