Just a little something for those suffering from a bad case of spring fever
Watching Grass Grow
It isn't every day that you can sit still and listen to the grass grow
It isn't every day that you can stare at the sky and watch the wind blow
But when life hands you one of those days, don't ask why
Just check out and wait for the small things to come by
A basket with food and wine and a blanket to spread
A place beside a brook on which to make your bed
An old cane pole with a bent rusty hook that will work
To sling over your shoulder and walk down the road with a smirk
After all, it's your day to live, a day to be free
To lean against the willow and just let yourself be
Tomorrow will come with its troubles and cares
When you have to go back knowing all of life will be there.
But for today, it's all gone, today you're a kid
Today you can once again do whatever you once did.
