I am sooooo glad that you were able to enjoy your flowers.  We appreciated and wallowed in every minute that we had with ours....lots and lots of pictures while they were there. :-)

Re: Debt's Coffee Klatch-Off Topic Chat

Morning all (well, almost afternoon, I guess)!

Here's what I found on NPR:  National Poetry Month may be coming to an end, but poetry lovers still have one big day to look forward to this April. This Thursday [today] is Poem in Your Pocket Day.

So I'm taking this from my pocket to share with all of you.  My life's philosophy:

"MY HEART LEAPS UP WHEN I BEHOLD"

          My heart leaps up when I behold
              A rainbow in the sky:
          So was it when my life began;
          So is it now I am a man;
          So be it when I shall grow old,
              Or let me die!
          The Child is father of the Man;
              I could wish my days to be
          Bound each to each by natural piety.
                                                              William Wordsworth, 1802.

Thanks for the reminder.  When you think about anger that way, it's just not worth it, is it?

The pic is beautiful.  I am going to enlarge it and have my coffee by Big Spring . . . by the trees . . . surrounded by morning mist . . . .  Ahh!

Re: Deb's Coffee Klatch-Off Topic Chat

If you could put my life into a poem (at least my choices) I think Robert Frost did a good job.

bridgeBridge over Thronspring Creek, WV

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost

One of the many surprises of life that came my way the last three years before we left New Mexico is when I met and became friends with Robert Frost's daughter.  A very interesting, creative and unique lady in her own right.

Re: Deb's Coffee Klatch-Off Topic Chat

Well thank you all for the lovely poetry and Muse that's amazing that you became friends with Frost's daughter, I mean wow.

I like poetry but have never felt the pull that I do from a work of fiction, I can't really put my finger on why. I do enjoy Bronté and Frost, Cummings and the like and am envious of those of you who can "see" through the words by a poet.

Well Happy Saturday folks here's our thought for the day

“You have to ask yourself,
‘Does this item or thought or response
move me closer to my vision for my best life?’
If it does, great. If it doesn’t,
what is it doing in your life?”

 Peter Walsh
(1956-)

And you have to ask yourself what does it mean when the quotes are by people younger than you :smileyhappy:
