Happy Thursday, still trying to clean up loose ends so I can go on vacation with a clear conscience.

here's today's thought

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.
That myth is more potent than  history.
That dreams are more powerful than facts.
That hope always triumphs over experience.
That laughter is the only cure for grief.
And I believe that love is stronger than death.”

~ Robert Fulghum

Robert Lee Fulghum (born June 4, 1937) is an American author, primarily of short essays.

Very difficult to promote B and N ebooks

It seems ro be very difficult to promote ebook titles on B and N. From the posts no one ever wrote a book, all they do is read other people's books. I write books, and I publish them on B and N and Amazon.com, and I like to read my own writing. Here are a few titles YOU might like to read. Search by title, or author Phillip Duke.

Sherlock Holmes And The Alien Abduction

Jack The Ripper versus Sherlock Holmes

Thanks for your post Phillip, you are always welcome to promote your B&N titles on any of the forums. I did see your post on Becke's mystery forum too.

The books look very good

thanks for the post

Re: Deb's Coffee Klatch-Off Topic Chat

Happy Sunday peeps, is it hot where you are. I think we've set record highs for the last few days here in the St. Louis area

today over the century mark yet again ugh.

So it looks like the Zoo and botanical garden will not figure in my staycation or they may find me swimming with the sea lions :0

here's our Sunday thought

“The possibility of stepping into a higher plane
is quite real for everyone.
It requires no force or effort or sacrifice.
It involves little more than
changing our ideas about what is normal.”

Hey Guys,

For those who haven't missed me LOL,.... FYI... we've been MIA since Friday night.... No electricity, no phones, no water, no toilets, no refrigeration, no lights, no air conditioner for the 100 degree (plus in the sun) heat... and two grandsons.... with the nearest available services of any kind, including gas 1 1/2 hours over 3 mountains.  The lights went out in the middle of our closing meetings with our group of 50 teens and sponsors....nope...not a good situation, as they didn't leave till the next morning.  We had a couple of big cases of water and enough milk in our frig for them to pour over their dry cereal....forget end of week clean-up.  We will face that tomorrow, now that the lights came back on --- along with the list above.

We celebrated with a steak dinner - on the grill  after the lights came back on about 2 hours ago.  Lol  The boys were disappointed.  They were enjoying the grand adventure at Nana and Pop's house.

Deb, can I come join you on your sta-cation?  :-)

Looking forward to the new book next week....hope to poke my head in the door of that pub.

Muse

A really good book is much like an artichoke. As you peel back each page of the of the book, you get closer and closer to the succulent heart of the story.

Muse, I'm so sorry and I'm afraid you were not alone in your darkened heat, Becke from mystery also lost power during the horrendous storms that drove through the NE over the course of the last couple of days. I'm just glad that everyone was okay because this was indeed a deadly storm.

I'm also glad the grandkids enjoyed their fabu adventure while gram and gramps sweated it out. At least you have power back they're saying some folks won't get it until the end of this week and the relentless heat is not giving up either.

Muse you are welcome to come and staycay with me as it looks like all my outdoor activities will be forgotten during my time off, too hot to visit the Zoo or botanical gardens, even the trip from the parking lot to the mall will be brutal but that I'll force myself to endure :smileyhappy:

STay safe and cool my friend.

Re: Deb's Coffee Klatch-Off Topic Chat

Please don't take the post as a complaint, it wasn't....just a share of an adventure in adventure land.  We have been wondering how everyone else has been fairing.  It caught everyone here by surprise... This place does not get tornado, or hurricanes...so the Derecho caught this whole area totally by surprise.

Here is one of the best articles I have read about the storm.
