Barry, are you a fan of Connelly.

I absolutely love his novels, both his series Lincoln Lawyer and his Harry Bosch and his stand alones as well.

Debbie,

I am a fan of his writing. This is the third one of his books that I've read. I haven't tried any of the Lincoln Lawyer series yet, but they are on the list!

Re: Tell us what you're reading right now and what's next on your shelf

Busy weekend doing what I love :smileyhappy:

just finished The Demoness of Waking Dreams  for the September issue of RT magazines, I have to finish my HQN Presents series and one more selection before I can put that issue to bed

I just started

A Place in the Country  this author holds a very special place in my heart, she has taken me to more picturesque places than any one else and I'm so happy that she will be my New Release Feature on Tuesday so be sure to stop by and see that.

Of course I'm going to finish

A Deeper Darkness  for our monthly featured read and for those of you who want more Sam  Edge of Black     will be coming out in December so be sure to ask Santa for this one as we find out where JT takes Sam from here.

So what are you reading this weekend and for the dads out there

Happy Father's Day!!!!!

Of course at my house everyday is father's day don't you know :smileyhappy:

Were/are you an Oprah Book Club fan?  Do you have a feel for this novel yet?  Like it?  I keep hearing about it, but haven't been bitten by the wild bug just yet :smileylol:  I heard an NPR story a couple of days ago, so I will probably be bitten soon.  Love to know your first impressions!

My current "fun read" (not for any Book Club) is

Travels  Bowles caught my attention when I searched for novels set in Morocco (my next real-life foreign destination).  I also bought his fiction novel The Sheltering Sky, set in Morocco, but got a bit sidetracked when I read the summary of this non-fiction collection.  Bowles traveled widely and wrote many journalist travel pieces.  This collection contains several pieces from Morocco where Bowles both traveled and lived for a time.

I have read most of Oprah's Book Club picks and for the most part I have really liked them. There are only a few that I can think of that were just not my taste. Actually, I had found Wild on B&N when it first was released and the review was so good that I put it on my wishlist. When Oprah announced it for her new book club, I couldn't resist and just had to read it right away. I'm a third of the way through and I'm loving it, captivated by Cheryl's story. The writing is fantastic. Cheryl writes about the loss of her mother due to cancer and she describes this loss so well and that I can feel every inch of her pain. She writes with such love of the memories she had with her mother, that I couldn't help thinking, that any mother would be proud of the job they did raising their children if those children spoke that highly of them. I'm a little way into the hike right now and all I have to say is: WOW! No way could I make that hike! I don't think I'd last even a minute!:smileyhappy:

Re: Tell us what you're reading right now and what's next on your shelf

I'm on vacation right now and I vowed to not get on the computer, so for the most part I'll be gone for 6 days.  I just started a new Mary Roberts Rinehart book though and I wanted to share it.  I posted it over at the mystery board, but since I'm such a huge fan, I want to get others reading her books again.
