Young adult or Children's Fantasy series from the early 1980's

I may be giving away my age here,  but in the early 1980's I was 12 years old and I started reading this fantasy series and I'm trying to remember what it was called.  It's driving me crazy trying to remember more about it because I remember it was such a great series!  It was about a bunch of small, mythical creatures in these strange lands and they would have these adventures.  I remember them being described as small, furry, cute creatures, like little porcupines or hedgehogs. Anyone remember anything like that?  I wouldn't ask, but it is driving me bannanas!  Heidi

Hi Heidi, welcome to the forum. hmmm. I don't know of it, but I'll aks my daughter she was born in 80. Plus let me do some checking around
