The Lies of Locke Lamora (the only book I ever really recommend), by Scott Lynch. Locke and Jean forever!

I never expected the wonderful story of culture, friendship and love. When I need an escape I open this book and slip into the world of John Dunbar, my favorite fictional character, who has integrity and love of life that I strive to attain.
