Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Welcome & Introductions

Hi,

I just got notified that the arc will arrive next month. I have enjoyed the other first look discussions and l look forward to this one too. Thank you B &N for such a wonderful program and opportunity.
Right now, for the winter, I am in Florida. My son is getting married this weekend, on the beach, and it looks like the weather will cooperate although the beach has been badly eroded from storms offshore during the summer. This Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be thankful for in my life.

Hi, Linda!  Have a great day with your family!  Sounds like lots of good things to eat!  Safe travels to you!  I'm staying home, alone, this year.  I've spent the whole week celebrating Thanksgiving, actually the whole month, with friends and family.  Now I get to stay home, read, and eat leftovers! Ha!

Be well,

Kathy

Re: Welcome & Introductions

Hi everyone, my name is Carolyn from northern Virginia.  This will be my 3rd First Look book.  My previous First Look books were Songs for the Missing and The Mighty Queens of Freeville.  I was excited to discover a new First Look coming so soon after The Mighty Queens discussion.  I thought we'd all have to wait a while before another selection was posted.  I love to read, that is when I am not busy cross stitching!  Look forward to receiving A Fortunate Age and discussing it with all of you.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Re: Welcome & Introductions

Hello to All!  I am MamaBear and I've taken part in a few First Looks awhile back, but then just got too busy.  I really missed them.  I am from Southcentral Minnesota (not really the frozen tundra as it is over 40 degrees today, but it will be well below zero later this winter).  I'm really looking forward to this book and the discussion with all of you.
