Re: Welcome and Introductions

[ Edited ]

Hey All

I love to read. I cant really say what my favorite themes are because i pretty much read anything that grabs my attention but i tend to stick to YA. I am currently finishing my Students Teaching and have less time to read but i still find ways to get a few chapters a-day in. This is my first time doing this and i am super excited.

Wish I had known what an MFA was back in the day when I was in college. I hear of so many writers who have them these days. I started out as a creative writing major back in the dark ages in college, but the program wasn't well developed at that time and it ended up being more of a minor and turned into my hobby instead of my career. Both of my degrees are in education, but we have the YA genre in common. It was such a priviledge to have Lauren Oliver's YA novel turn out to be my first experience in the First Look club. What a gift to have such talent and already be published at her age.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi!  I am a teacher who just rediscovered YA books after some recommendations from students.  I have 2 kids under 5, who keep me really busy!  This book seems really intriguing and so far I am really enjoying it!
