Re: How To Get Your Free Reading Copy & Enroll in the Discussion

I have no idea if I am doing this right...do I just hit reply to add to the discussion?..I grew up in the age of computers, you would think I might be alittle more savy at all of this...

Anyhow, hopefully I made it on time to be a part of this book club discussion. I am attempting to start doing the things that I have always wanted to do/be a part of. Crossing my fingers xx

Yes. To add to messages, you hit reply. To enroll in the club, you need to send a private message via the little envelope at the top right under your name.

I am hoping that the format stays in solid form! ebooks have a place but hard copies last longer and have a greater impact upon me. I just love the feel and smell of a new book. I love to think about the cover and to explore the pages and return to those that moved me. It isn't so easy to do that with an ebook. "Real" books develop a relationship with the reader...they take on a life of their own. Touching them makes the experience of reading more personal. Hmmm, it sounds like I am having a love affair with my books and I guess that isn't too far off the mark. I simply love the emotional experience of reading a good book.

Aye carumba! I can't seem to figure out how to navigate these boards (not one for posting or blogging), and I'm hoping someone somewhere can answer a question for me.

I was thinking last night about the nook (I covet one in the worst way) and was wondering if First Look would have ebooks available for the customers that have nooks (eventually). Instead of sending a hard copy, will the book clubs offer an electronic copy to people that have nooks who are interested in joining a discussion? Granted, that would make the discussion group larger, but seems like it would be a good idea.

Thanks :smileyhappy:

We're certainly thinking about it, Lisa. Stay tuned.

twj, I absolutely couldn't agree more!  If things ever changed to ebook, I'd be devastated.  I've tried ebooks on occasion and they're too cold and impersonal for me.

NO WAY Paul!  You are way too good to us for that!

Re: How To Get Your Free Reading Copy & Enroll in the Discussion

Hey, Lisa!

When you are signed in to the book club section, you should see a white mailbox in upper right corner. They will send you messages here which is where you'll receive confirmation. They have started sending out confirmations (haven't received mine yet) and will do more next week.

There is a thread on here that will post the schedule. I don't think the books are supposed to be mailed until the first week in January. At that point they wil schedule the start for the read. There will be sections to read at certain dates. I read the entire last book before the scheduled start - too excited!

Hope we all get a first look!

Sherry

How nice, it will be a holiday present! Thank you and happy holidays (no matter what you celebrate) and a happy new year to all. I wish we could all feel the good cheer of the holiday season all through the year. I love December.
