Re: How To Get Your Free Reading Copy & Enroll in the Discussion

Aye carumba! I can't seem to figure out how to navigate these boards (not one for posting or blogging), and I'm hoping someone somewhere can answer a question for me.

I was thinking last night about the nook (I covet one in the worst way) and was wondering if First Look would have ebooks available for the customers that have nooks (eventually). Instead of sending a hard copy, will the book clubs offer an electronic copy to people that have nooks who are interested in joining a discussion? Granted, that would make the discussion group larger, but seems like it would be a good idea.

Thanks :smileyhappy:

I don't have the envelope icon below help! What do I do now?

It's at the top right, below your name, logout, etc.

Also, check your settings in your profile. Do you have PM enabled?

Re: How To Get Your Free Reading Copy & Enroll in the Discussion

Hi! I am Luanne from Minnesota. I love to read with my 2 dogs sitting by me, with a cup of tea.
A book is so much better when you can discuss it with someone else. It doesn't matter what
genre or who the author is. I love the discussion, the debates, the high fives for a great
idea and the what led you to think that. I think the diverse discussion adds to this
experience.  A good discussion will lead me to look at a character or storyline in a way
I never would have thought of.
Welcome to everyone. I see a lot of familiar people. I have made some good friends here.
I am looking forward to meeting all the new people.

I am hoping that the format stays in solid form! ebooks have a place but hard copies last longer and have a greater impact upon me. I just love the feel and smell of a new book. I love to think about the cover and to explore the pages and return to those that moved me. It isn't so easy to do that with an ebook. "Real" books develop a relationship with the reader...they take on a life of their own. Touching them makes the experience of reading more personal. Hmmm, it sounds like I am having a love affair with my books and I guess that isn't too far off the mark. I simply love the emotional experience of reading a good book.

Re: How To Get Your Free Reading Copy & Enroll in the Discussion

You're right about that nothing beats having a book physically in your hands. I much rather hold a book and be able to turn the pages myself, than stare at a screen and read a book. Books have and always should be on paper, not a screen.

Reading can only make you more happy and smarter. :smileyhappy:

I'm so very excited to read this book. This is my very first First Look and I can't wait to read it and discuss it.
