Thanks B&N, Paul, Rachel, Mr. Monninger, Ms. Sagan, and fellow readers, for another interesting book discussion. Though I posted less than I normally do because of family commitments, I did enjoy myself and wish the author a successful launch with his latest creation. And I am looking forward to the next "First Look."

This was a very well written book by someone it seems that really loves nature and loves to write about it!
The two main characters Cobb and Mary meet in the great outdoors and fall immediately in love. We all know at the beginning that Mary will die in the end but it doesn't prepare us for the sadness and the way she does die!
There are a lot of small stories within the book about crows, bears, wolves and turtles, each being very interesting the way they tie in at the end, including the Chungamunga girls.
I loved this book but I thought it was a little slow at times, hence the 4 stars and not 5, but It made me cry at times and also made me learn a lot about human nature when you know someone will be dying at the end.
All in all a very good read!

Wow, I am really glad that I gave this book a chance. I have to say that I would not have picked up this book on my own because I usually don't read books of this genre but I truly loved it. I love Mary & Cobb's relationship. The "yeti" thing is too cute. The beginning of their relationship is like a dream, in which they fell in love so fast, but it makes this story that much more magical. I will be recommending this book to all of my friends. Thanks B&N for these great reads! I love the first look program!

Hi Paul ![]()
Thank you so much for the chance to read this book!
I almost passed it up because the cover didnt catch my attention at all; it still doesnt. But I Iove the title.
And I love Eternal on the Water!
I think the cover should definitely be changed though because it does nothing to represent the beautiful story inside.

Hi Paul
Posted my review. I am sorry I was not able to participate in the discussion (although I have read some of the postings in the past couple days). The flu went through our household this month and there wasn't a lot of time for reading unfortunately! I did get to read over the weekend & posted in final thoughts & posted a review at B&N. Thank you!

I posted my review (don't know how to do the link though). It was a great book, by far my favorite First Look novel so far. I will definitely be passing this one on to my Mother-in-Law and others. Great job Mr. Monninger, I will be looking up your other books as well. Thanks!
