I am about to grab my book & read for the afternoon. A special story. Cannot wait until it is available in bookstores so I can tell my friends to buy a copy. Thankyou to the author for a wonderful book.

I posted mine on the product page as requested. Beautiful book! A tearjerker at the end though.

I enjoy reading stories that reference places that I know. Although I have never been to Indonesia, I have visited and eaten at the Irish Pub Restaurant mentioned in the story, but in New York City and at the Inner Harbor in Maryland.
I just don't like the name Mr. Halloween for a character, it really seems like the author couldn't come up with one. However, Cobbs prom date is actually the name of a former neighbor and a friend of my daughters.
The readers guide at the end of the book is terrific. As a former teacher, I could see using this novel with a high school literature class.
The story was well written and moved along at a good pace. The characters easy to believe and enjoy.

I may be wrong but I think the name was Hallowen.

I'll have to post a proper review later. I just finished the book and I must say, the ending took me longer than usual. Every few pages I had to stop and wipe my eyes so I could keep reading. Oh, what a story.

I posted my review on the product page. I enjoyed this book; it made me think as well as entertained me. That is always a sign of a well written story.

I feel a little bad for having to write a review that does anything but praise a book that I was so excited to read. I tried...and tried...and tried to start this book but other things (and other books) were catching my attention and it was hard to get past the first couple pages. I believe that there is nothing in the world, and no book that 'unreadable' but there are certain times that are right for books to be read. Maybe this just wasnt the right time. After reading all of the other reviews, I still think that there is a time for this book and I to reconnect, but the timing was off.

I am glad there is someone out there who felt the same way I, and several of my co-workers who also have the book, did. I could not get past the first few pages, but one of my co-workers who was plodding through the book told me to get past the "Maine" chapters, that once I got to the "Indonesia" chapters, the book improved & I would like it--and she was right. From those chapters on, I actually enjoyed the book, even though I already knew what happened in the end. So when the time is right, give it a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I gave it 4 stars. Very touching story of a man and woman who meet on a river. Cobb finds Mary to be his soul mate and yet he loses her to a terrible disease. There is lots about nature in this book, but it is not over done or boring. Mary is a very different kind of character and minor characters add a lot to the story also. Good, easy to read writing style. Would have given this book 5 stars, but just way too much naming of brand products - too much commercialism.I
