Hi Lisa,
this group is great and I know you will enjoy the discussion. What are we going to do about references to books by page number when we get nook? I also have a kindle and it uses locations which is a problem when I want to point out something in my local book club. I am the only one with an ereader and everybody frowns at me when I have to admit that I can't give them a page number so they can follow what I am reading to them. Oh well, nook will be upgradeable and eventually they must come up with true page numbers, if they want to corner the text book market; all those students are impatiently awaiting that day. Anyway, the nook discussions on the ebook help board are wicked; many who are angry that the delivery of nook is delayed. I'm supposed to get mine "by Dec 14." I hope.

Hello Rosia,
Welcome to the board; it's a great group and our discussions become quite lively. I just mentioned to somebody else that retirement is wonderful. One can sit at the computer all night without having to worry about getting up on time to go to work. I love it.

Hi Rachel,Knitting and reading at the same time is easy if you have the right project. I sit in front of my computer with a book propped up on my desk - held down by a paperweight - and my knitting in hand. I knit teddy bears for HIV/Aids infected children in Africa for the Motherbear Project http://www.motherbearproject.org and since the pattern is easy I can knit and read at the same time. And for the first time in my life my yarn stash is going down instead of up.I'm on bear #145. http://purlingantonia.blogspot.com

I live in North Carolina with my daughters and a big wonderful slobbery dog who thinks he's also a six year old girl. I have too many books and too much yarn--and I haven't figured out how to handle both at the same time yet. Any pointers?
I'm also a librarian, so I do in person book clubs and book talks, too.
Can't wait to get started!

I'm in Chicago and look forward to curling up on the couch with a cup of joe, hot cocoa or tea and a good book. I don't have time to physically go to book club meetings so FL is perfect!

Congratulations on your first child and a lucky child it will be, who has a mother who loves to read.

Hi Rachel
The only way I can handle books and fibers at the same time is with "audio" books. But I am a lover of the hand held paper books, so I consider it another one of my fiber loves and use yarn as a rest my eyes break.
Looking forward to our new FL Eternal on the Water

I am so looking forward to getting this book and having some diversion during the MIchigan winter, I have had 7 previous FL books and I am as excited as when I got the first. Bravo to B&N for this excellent program.

Hi Gisela, I'm North of you on I80 in Roseville. It is a small world.
Cora
That's near Sacramento, right? I'm too lazy to look at a map right now, sorry. You mentioned somwhere that you are retired; isn't life in retirement wonderful? I told my daughter the other day that I have had the best ten years of my life since I retired. I can read all night or write all day or knit whenever I feel like it without having to worry about getting up at a certain time to be ready to go to work. I just bought myself an "old lady's bike" a trike, actually, which I ride along the creek or to the park, sometimes even to the grocery store (reducing my carbon foot print!) and, of course, to Barnes & Noble. Yes, life is good!
-------------------------------------------------
LOL...Right next door to Sacramento. Going up I80 you have Sacramento>Citrus Heights>Roseville. It is where the foothill communities start.
Yes, retired and find it as wonderful as you do, for all the same reasons. I have a Trader Joes across the street, a Library around the corner on the other side, and a Barnes and Nobles over the freeway. Oh, and I almost forgot - a Starbucks across the street for a great caffeine fix.

Now why didn't I think of that...LOL...I'm going to give it a try. I'm knitting scarfs and hats for the homeless in our area. The scarfs are simple enough to do while reading. And much needed yarn reduction is a must.

Hi-
I'm new to B&N book discussions, but did recieve "Truly,Madly" arc by Heather Webber and loved it!
I read it in 1 day when I was out sick from work, and am ready for the Dec 7th discussion.
I look forward to reading "Eternal on the Water" too, now. I'm not so great navigating these discussion boards though, so bear with me as I figure 'em out :")
And so beguile thy sorrow."

Love that word "Confirmed". It was a sheer delight to get the confirmation so fast and not have to wait and check every day, every hour, every minute! Thanks, Paul! It was like an early Christmas gift!
Looking forward to reading with the group. Reading a book with FL is really rewarding and we all get so much more out of the book through all the great discussion!

So those of you who are old timers hi, I'm so glad FL is back I always have withdrawals in between the reads so I'm looking forward to rejoining old friends. And for you newbies, gosh I can't wait to see your responses and pick your brains and become friends too.

Hi,
I'm Susan, an avid reader from So Calif, and am so looking forward to this. This would be my first 'First Look' experience and I'm anxiously awaiting that magic word 'confirmed'.
Have a great day.
