Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi my name is Gail Marie, and I am from Graham/Spanaway, Washington. Well I guess my problem is I just love to read and as I have said in the past that my house looks like a library. Since I have been laid off my job since March of this year I have gone back to college. Because I just can not just sit at home and do nothing with my time other than look for work and read all day. Any way I can not wait to get start reading this book it really sound good. Take care all and happy reading!!!!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everybody,

My name is Jo and I live in Phoenix now, orignally from the Midwest - Chicago area - and lived a lot of other places that have been mentioned here, Bucks County, Pa;  SoCal; Florida; New York.

I've done a bunch of FLs and have enjoyed almost all of them.   I thought Postmistress was great, as was Sag Harbor.   I'm retired and sometimes stay up too late to finish a book, so I know exactly what you fans of retirement are talking about!   We can be pretty self-indulgent, and doesn't it feel goooood....

I love seeing old friends signing up again, and welcoming some new blood as well.  It's amazing, how different readers will see something, or have some insight, that most of the others have not.  I feel like I learn something all the time, but it's more fun than a college lit class.

Can't wait to get this one!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I live in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I'm also retired and like you stay up entirely to late to finish reading a good book.  This one certainly sounds terrific and I'm anxious to begin reading Eternal Waters.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

My name is Jen and I live in Massachusetts.  I also teach second grade there and am taking classes to get my Master's in Math Education.  I have been a part of many past First Looks, but the last one I was unable to complete due to family and work situations/stressors.  I really hope that this does not hurt my chances of being able to be a part of this First Look because it sounds like a great one!  I love the opportunity Barnes and Noble gives to us to preview books before they are even out in the stores.  I hope everyone had a great holiday and is as excited about this book and club as I am!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I'm April, and this is my first time participating in this book club.  I thought I was pretty computer savvy, but it took me three days to finally make the envelope icon appear and send my message!  Hopefully, I'll get the book and it will all be worth it :smileyhappy:

I look forward to discussing the book with all of you in the New Year!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi!

I'm Theresa and if you don't find me reading, you will probably find me knitting, cross stitching or gardening. This is my first time with getting a First Look book, so I'm very excited to join in.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi Tammy,

I'm also in the Truly, Madly book club and I thought the book was just so refreshing, a real "up" book.  See you there on Monday.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Julie here, from Western MA.  I've participated in several First Look sessions. The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane has been my favorite selection thus far - I've recommended it to all of my book reading friends!

This sounds like a great read as well - I'm really looking forward to hunkering down on my couch over the holidays and losing myself in Eternal on the Water!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Good afternoon all! My name is Sarah and I live in Michigan.  I am waiting patiently for the snow to fall!  I actually participated in the very first discussion the book was "Monsters of Templeton"  (I think), I also did a few others after that.  I am currently reading "A CHRISTmas Carol" and "American Wife".  I look forward to a cold snowy morning, cup 'o joe and our First Look book!   Oh, and maybe a cookie or two!!!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hey,everyone! I'm excited to be joining you all in the discussion of Eternal on the Water. This will be my second time participating in the First Look book club. I am trying to get into adult books. I've only read a few so far. They are The Art of Racing in the Rain ( didn't like that one it was odd to me I loved Enzo though.), The Lovely Bones ( such a great book can't wait for the movie), and some more but I can't remember them. I really want to read The Weight of Silence. BN is my favorite bookstore and First Look is one of the hundred reasons why.

Reading can only make you more happy and smarter. :smileyhappy:
