HI -- I'm Lisa, and I'm new to this and very excited to participate! I live in Iowa and am a recent empty nester. I love to read (my nook is on order!), and I think I'll enjoy this format. Thanks for the opportunity!

Hi, I'm Sara. This is the first time I've done the First Look. I was just married this past June, and now my husband Brian and I are expecting our first child. I work for the local telephone company. I'm addicted to books, and read whenever I get a spare moment. I can't wait to be able to discuss this book.

Hi, I'm Sydney
This is my first First Look and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm a Middle School teacher (29 years now!!) in Oklahoma. I asked for my book to be shipped to school, so I hope it arrives before we're out for Winter Break. Otherwise, I'll be reading profusely on the 4th so I can be ready to discuss!!

I'm Sharon and live with my husband in Houston, TX. I'm a part-time librarian and community volunteer. I find reading provides a great conversation starter. This is my second FL, after THE POSTMISTRESS, so I am really looking forward what sounds like a wonderful book for another great experience. Wish the book were here tonight so I could curl up with it on this cold and rainy night!

Hi,
i am Sally and so delighted to join this group again. I live in NorthEast Florida and love to read.
I live with two grandchildren that are 6 and 9. This has started me reading chapter books and some of the adult authors are now writing for the younger set. We have enjoyed Chris Grabenstein and James Rollins among others.

Hi Everyone,
I'm Rachel and I moderate FL. I hope all our newbies see how welcoming our regulars are and jump right in. I'm really looking forward to Eternal on the Water! The writing is lovely and I think it's going to stir great discussions.
I live in North Carolina with my daughters and a big wonderful slobbery dog who thinks he's also a six year old girl. I have too many books and too much yarn--and I haven't figured out how to handle both at the same time yet. Any pointers?
I'm also a librarian, so I do in person book clubs and book talks, too.
Can't wait to get started!
Rachel

That's near Sacramento, right? I'm too lazy to look at a map right now, sorry. You mentioned somwhere that you are retired; isn't life in retirement wonderful? I told my daughter the other day that I have had the best ten years of my life since I retired. I can read all night or write all day or knit whenever I feel like it without having to worry about getting up at a certain time to be ready to go to work. I just bought myself an "old lady's bike" a trike, actually, which I ride along the creek or to the park, sometimes even to the grocery store (reducing my carbon foot print!) and, of course, to Barnes & Noble. Yes, life is good!
