Re: Community Room

I actually got mine today! I was/still am soooo excited! But it will have to wait a day or two, so I can put a rush on finishing the other book I'm in the middle of. But now that Hush, Hush is waiting, it's going be speed lightening!

Re: Community Room

Just got my ARC today as well! I'm very excited indeed. Just have to finish up a few summer assignments before I can get down to reading it.

Received my book yesterday. Looks very interesting! I live in Southeastern PA and usually receive the book on the first day after they are sent out. Usually takes a few days to show up in other parts of US. They move from East to West.

Re: Community Room

would it be possible for someone to give me what's written on page 207 (which I'm missing)?

it's only a few lines.

Re: Community Room

I read on rainy weekend afternoons on my front porch in the rocker............and in the evenings in my bed with the fan in the background and curtains blowing in the breeze.

Sometimes I'm fortunate enough to have my cat join me........other times I'm UNFORTUNATE enough to have the dog jump full force on the bed (all 43 pounds of him and he's a puppy) and mess up my whole area and so we have to restructure and start over.........lol

This time I'm hoping my teenage son will join me and we can read together!

Re: What Book are you reading now?

Shelf Discovery

It's so great!  I've also spent way too much money on used books lately tracking down all the books she talks about that I haven't read, or want to read again but don't know where my copy is (parents' basement?!).

Highly recommended to all!

I'm afraid I'd spend all my extra money on books too. I think I'll still buy it and just prepare for the worst. Thanks for the recommendation.

I loved Memoirs of a Teenage Amenesiac, so I'm looking forward to reading Elsewhere.

Elsewhere is really good. A new take on life after death.  I hope you enjoy it!

In other news, I just received my arc and am putting Wicked on hold till I finish Hush Hush.

Loved Elsewhere! I need to read more of her books. I got Hush, Hush from the publishers last month and read it before I even knew there were sign-ups here. Really looking forward to discussing it. I've done the First Look clubs here before and I'm thrilled that it's branching out into teen books as well. Happy reading everyone!

Re: Community Room

Received the book yesterday, and started it---it is a very enjoyable and quick easy read

and a story that draws you right in.  I am really liking it.

I am eager to start the discussions especially since i am a Grandmother and this is about teens --some of the scenes about behavior in school --I find troubling and wonder if the portrayal is accurate.

Re: Community Room

I hope I am not too late, but I just sent in my request.  If I am, that is the way it has been with me this summer!  A day late and a dollar short!

I have been involved with 3 (I think) First Look books and throughly enjoy the experience. As a high school teacher, I am always  on the lookout for new books for teens. this sounds like it will be a good one!

Re: Where do you read?

I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post.

I enjoyed hearing where everyone reads, beverage, pets, Ipod, TV, etc.

I can't remember who said they like to read in the bathtub, I have tried and I just can't get comfortable. But I envy you, because it should be very relaxing.

Anyway, thank you again.

And if anyone else wants to share where they read. I would still like to hear.

Someone posed a question on another First Look book that I thought was a lot of fun.

The question was where do you like to read, do you have a beverage, pets with you, TV on, etc. I would like to know.

So to start I usually read on my couch in the living room. Usually with the TV on as background noise(bad habit of mine). I usually have a cup of tea. My 2 favorites are Earl Grey and Japanese Wild Cherry teas. My 2 dogs are right there with me, Bridget the Standard Poodle and Mika the Japanese Chin. I also like reading on my deck in the summer with all my usual things with me, tea and dogs.

So please join in, I would like to know where you read.

The shipping schedules start from east coast addresses?  Bummer, I am in Seattle, can't get further west than that!

Hi everyone.

I'm reading Under this Unbroken Sky (glad to see others reading it as well) along with the Time Traveler's Wife.

PS:  How do you get the pictures of the books to post?  Is it just cut/paste?

I loved Time Travelers Wife!  I only hope that they do the movie justice!  It was a fantastic book.

I think my answer to this is where don't I read?? LOL! I take a book with me where ever I go, sometimes 2 if I even think I might finish this first one.  I even read at stop lights :smileyhappy:

My favorite place has to be in my comfy chair curled up under a blanket. My two cats will usually join me, Max on my feet and Blue trying to "help" me read.  Sometimes I have background noise, but usually not.  Trying to conserve energy :smileyhappy:

I received my copy of Hush, Hush yesterday and can't wait to get reading!

Right now though, I am finishing reading The Strain. Awesome scary vampire book!
