Re: Community Room

I am loving this book!!!! I unfortunately had a late start getting to read this book and had my doubts about getting into it, however I am happy to find myself falling in love w/this book. I started reading and found that I was unable to put it down and lost sleep that I so sorely need. Alas my body won the war last night and I finally had to close my eyes at 4am so I could wake up 2 hrs later to get to work. I hope to finish this book tonight or tomorrow but my sleep deprived body might have other plans.

Hi !!!

I `m not sure where to post this : I have 2 chapters with the title : "chapter 21".... when at the 281 page the really thing have to say "Chapter 22" .

I repeat: is just the title changed , with the story i do not have problem, any missing page for my luck :smileyhappy:

If is not clear, please write me a message, because i do not trust much in my english.. and i do not know if i explain it well... I hope this will help to you :smileyhappy:

I have been faced with the same ...2 chapters both "21"...I believe its a typo error, but we will hear back from Paul to confirm..I am also enjoying Hush,Hush...and your written English  is fine, not to worry..What  country are you from?  Best..Vtc

Re: Community Room

I did not get the book until 2 days ago and I am having to play catch up. Luckily, it is a quick read and I am loving it so far. We have a winner here.

My shopping today....

LOL like you REALLY want to know, but had lots of luck finding books at Goodwill store and the Salvation Army store!  You just can't beat .25 -.50 for a book! and most of them are in very good to excellent shape!

Re: Community Room

I have a question. How many times are we required to post to ensure that we can join another first look book club?

Re: Community Room

awh, i feel awful that i havent been able to comment as much as id planned, my college classes just started and i have been bombarded with homework. finding time to even sleep is hard to do. i actually read the book as soon as i got it! i just couldnt wait :smileyhappy: i adored it! there were a few times when i would feel like i needed more details, more time to know the characters, but otherwise, its an incredable read.

Hi Liisa22 I love getting good deals on books too. My library had a great sale I got 6 books for $1.25 they all in really good shape except for the Mary Shelley's Frankenstein it has a strange odor.  My husband suggested putting it in a box of mothballs to get the odor out. Do any of you have any idea's????

I have used silica gel before with some pretty good luck for smell.  No mothball stink.    http://www.silicagelpackets.com/     this is the company i use, I keep the packs on my shelves, (and with my scrapbook stuff!)

Buying books is one of my favorite things too!  I love going bargain hunting.  We have this store about 20 miles from where we live.  It's like a Salvation Army but the money from the donated items go to a place that helps pregnant women and teens.  I volunteered there earlier this year for about 6 months.  Going over the book shelves and putting out new books was my favorite thing.  (I also had first pick at the new ones being shelved!!!!)  One day about a month ago my daughter and I went there looking for books together (she's 13) and we found about 8 or 10.  We went up to the register and found out it was half-price everything in the store day.  We got all those books for $.90!!!  Their hardcovers are $.50 and paperbacks are $.25.  I love going in there!

Re: Community Room

i can totally see Hush Hush being a big hit!!! (The New Twilight!!!-don't get me wrong i liked twilight a lot but i have an aversion to vampires).   I love the whole fallen angel concept, so interesting and a topic hardly ever touched... vampires have been totally over-done and it is time for something new.  1st was wizards, 2nd was vampires, and now its angels... i love it!!!

Re: My shopping today....

Hi everyone.  I was having problems getting a bad smell out of a book I bought at a library book sale.  Vermontcozy suggested I use baking soda, and I did and  it worked :smileyhappy:  I put a few tablespoons of Arm & Hammer baking soda in a ziploc bag with the book and left it in there for 2 and half days and the smell is gone.

liisa22 also suggested the silica gel packs which I think I'll buy to keep on my bookshelf to keep my other books safe.

Thank for your help :smileywink:

Re: Community Room

Did anyone not like the book? I feel like I have no way to contribute because everyone is gushing over it and I dont want to rain on the parade.
