Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

i LOVED that!! :smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy: when i read the last line of the ARC copy, i thought the ending was ok, but i thought that maybe it should have had something more to it because it just sorta sat there.. and didnt leave the reader with any major feelings/emotion. But i LOVED this new ending!!!!!!!! and now i dont know what to do with myself inbetween now and the next book!! the new ending is perfect. i now have a even bigger crush on patch than i did before [thats sayin something! lol :smileywink:] and i am sosososo thrilled, and can not wait any longer for Crecendo [spell check???] I simply thought that the new ending was brilliant.

Great job Becca! And congrats again on the new book! :smileyhappy:

Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

Huh.  I like both endings.  They're hard to compare b/c both go in different directions!  I like how the original was more 'stand alone', but the new ending definitely has that 'whens the next one coming out' appeal to it. I think the best ending for me would have  been a mixture of both!

I definitely prefer the new (old) ending. Although the ARC ending was fine, I thought it was just a little silly.

Guess I'm in the minority - I liked the ARC ending better!

Hm. I agree with Mariandy. The original ending is better. The new one just seems like... extra, I guess.

Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

I like both endings, but I have to say I like the ARC ending better.  It just seemed much more ironic and less cliched.  Yes I did enjoy the steaminess factor, but throughout the novel Nora was never so, how shall I put it,  lusting after him.   I think that the new one satisfies the more romantic side of the story, but I thought it was perfectly in balance before and this kinda threw it off.  I like the original better.  Plus the security line was just great.  :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

I really enjoyed the first ending it was ironic and clever, yes this one did lead a little better for the next book. However I still think the first ending was more clever and a better fit, even though the seconded one had me fanning :smileyhappy:

Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

I can see again why sticking to the schedule is recommended.  Not only did I finish the book over two weeks ago, but my neighbor asked if she could read it when she was over and I agreed thinking I would remember all of it.  Now I can't remember the exact ending just that Patch arrived to install a security system and she found out he was now a guardian angel.  Now I know not to lend out a book until the discussion is done!

Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

While I'm totally on board for some Nora and Patch kissing I actually liked the first ending better.  It left more mystery and longing.  It felt a little closer to cliff hanger than tying things up with a neat bow.

Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

I actually disagree on the lusting part, I think Nora did her fair share of wanting Patch.  I actually felt like the new ending was a bit more swoonish than it was lustful and *that* is something I don't think Nora was.  I think she wanted Patch for sure but I don't think she was falling all over herself llke a silly school girl to get attention, much less that kiss, from him.

I think the new ending fits in with the story and gives the reader something they'd wanted to see throughout but I like the ARC better because I felt like it left the doors open for a lot of different things to happen in the next book (nclucing expansion of the romance).

Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

Either ending seemed to work.

The one in the ARC I like a little more. The new role Patch has seems appropriate.

The alternate ending is OK though.

Re: Link to New Ending (Spoiler -- Obviously!)

Much better!  As I discussed with a friend who also read the ARC, the ending (original) disappointed.  There seemed to be nothing left.  No loose ends.  Nothing to leave me wanting more.  With the new ending, Becca Fitzpatrick knocks the ball out of the park.  Now, I will join the ranks of those anxiously awaiting Crescendo!

I like both endings. However this one definitely leaves more suspense for the release of Crescendo...

I'm going to have to agree.  The ARC still sets up the sequel; Patch works "security" and will therefore be looking out for Nora.  This new ending is far too cheeseball and slapped together.  I loved the pun from the ARC ending and that gets dropped here.  I'm also a little uncomfortable with where Mom was during this scene.  Maybe we're missing a little bit since we don't know exactly where this ending gets tagged on, but I felt it went like this:  Patch comes to door and Mom and Nora answer, Patch and Nora ignore Mom and go outside to makeout while Mom stands in the doorway wondering if her security system is going to get installed.
