Re: Confirmations

Hello everyone, Been checking everyday to see if my PM went through.  Such a relief to see that confirmations haven't gone out yet. I guess I'll have to wait and see if i receive confirmation on monday. Part of me worries whether or not i signed up correctly. I'm totally addicted to reading and have a long "to read" list to get through.  It seems like I always have about three or four books open at a time.

I just finished reading What I Did for Love by Susan Elizabeth Phillips last night. I saw that the Romance Book Club on this site was reading it so i picked it up.  My first actual Romance Novel. I liked it so much I picked up the book she wrote previously which was on sale for $5 at the local BN (Natural Born Charmer).

I'm also part of the local BN Book club so I'm currently reading the book for that (The Secret Between Us by Barbara Delinsky). I could possibly finish it today. My plan is to keep busy until OBAM arrives at my door.

I'm 27, a special education teacher, no kids (unless you count my cat), no husband. I was part of the Physick Book of DD last month.  The book arrived in just two days after sending my PM. The UPS man literally just rang the door bell and left before I could open the door.  I looked down at my welcome mat and there was the package. I was totally excited.

I hope it's not just me checking everyday for updates and cofirmation... can't wait. I think Ponie summed it up nicely. Laurels for that!

Hello All,

I'll be sending out confirmations at the beginning of next week, so keep a look (get it?) out for my PM.

Again, Of Bees and Mist is really special and transporting book. It's going to be a great discussion!

 Hi All,

We watched a really cute movie the other night called Beverly Hills Chihuahua (a good clean family movie). One of the dogs kept saying "I'm not going to look, I'm not going to look" but then he always looked. I feel like the dog in the movie because I said I wasn't going to look at the next book. I looked and now I've signed up. I couldn't resist because the description was too enticing! :smileytongue:

Sooo...Hopefully...See you there! TRJ

Re: Confirmations

Welcome to the club again. You are part of our discussions and a very familiar name as well.

Right now I'm teaching English/Language Arts Resource grades 6-8.  I think that next year I'll be doing in class support when all the students are moved in to mainstream classes. Yes, I do enjoy working in this field but like you said, i can't wait til summer. I'm just glad that the state assessment is over! Now we can breathe.

Re: How to Get Your Free Reading Copy and Enroll in the Discussion

Thanks for providing us with this opportunity. The books you select are always interesting and the discussions enlightening. I've learned an awful lot this past several months as a result of your First Look Club and it has made reading "fun" for me again.

MissShopaholic, do not be devastated yet.  You are not alone.  I have a hard time being patient as well but this post from Rachel (I cut and pasted it from Welcome and Introductions) is very helpful.

Rachel said:

And to those worried about response to your registration--remember that it can take several days--and that if we were to run out of copies, there would be immediate notification on the boards.

There has been no notification so I think those of us who have registered so far are going to be OK.  That is what it sounds like to me.  So hang in there.  I think the confirmations are right around the corner.....

I agree with Ponie.....don't panic yet:-). Confirmations can take up to a week after you send in a PM. In the other two ARC's I've done, it's been a week exactly.

Re: How to Get Your Free Reading Copy and Enroll in the Discussion

Please try to refrain from sending a second PM. All that does is confuse -- and slow down -- this entire process.

Imagine a book that may have been slotted for you, but ended up being double-shipped to someone else...
