I'm wondering if one is Ravenna & the other is Pilar??
This is an interesting thought. If I recall correctly, everytime that Ravenna dropped by,
Pilar would come later and drop off the envelope of money from Gabriel.

I think the whole black and white thing with Ravenna has to do with her complex character. She can easily be seen as the victim of what appears to be a loveless marriage. However, she can also be seen as a manipulator who refuses to let her husband go. I think the reason why each neighbor sees her in a different color has to do with the way she appears to them.

I agree with the comments made about Elias and Eva. I think Eva is so insecure and manipulative that she may not even do it consciously anymore. She needs to feel important to her family. She strives for respect and conformity to her views, yet all she does is alienate herself from each family member eventually. I also think that sadly, for Elias the only way out was death.
I do not totally agree with your view of Pilar. She knew who Meridia was when she came to her to ask for her help with Patina, yet she never revealed who she was. Maybe she was afraid that Meridia would not help, but I wonder if she was more afraid of Meridia finding out the truth.
