Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this First Look.  I was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed Of Bees and Mist as much as I did as it is not the type of book I would normally pick up.  From the front cover, literally, through the end, (including the back cover!), Erick Setiawan kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next.  The imagery and mysticism, although sometimes frustrating, forces the reader to look beyond words on a page.  It is the type of read that conjures many different interpretations, none of which are wrong.  As beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the significance and/or particular meaning of many passages in this book are left to the imagination of the reader. I'm sure we'll be hearing alot about this truly gifted author.  I look forward to his next publication.

This was certainly an imaginitive and progative book. I found myself not wanting to put it down and wait to the next few chapters. I also found that the discussions were very diversitle and interesting where everyone was coming from.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read such a wonderful book. I look forward to reading more of Erics books.

I posted my reviews of this book and I do have to say that First Books did it once again for me.  I really did enjoyed this book and I hope that Erick Setiawan,  continue to write more books.  Because if his first book is this good what else will he do with his writing.  I have been tell my friend and family about this book.  For me I just couldn't just put this book down I had to keep reading until I finish it and I have read it twice.  I love the family situation, the ghosts and mist etc., don't want to give to much away because I want people to read this great read.

Whatever I was expecting as I started to read the first page, it was certainly nothing compared to what I got!  Having a true gift for writing, Erick Setiawan has unrolled his first novel in the manner of a great storyteller. Beautiful to read, magical to experience, this is truly an enjoyable read.  While not easily categorized by its content, I fully consider it more of a page-turner than most of the thrillers I have read recently.  Bravo, Erick, keep 'em coming!
