Well said, Thayer! You are very much appreciated, Paul!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi all,

Happy to see so many jumping in so early! I'm Rachel and I'll be your moderator for the month. I'll be posting a schedule for our discussion in the near future. We had a great month with our last selection, and I'm really looking forward to this one, too.

If anyone is curious about any of the moderators or admins for B&N, remember that we can all click on each other's profiles to get an idea of reading tastes, and whatever personal information we choose to share. If you haven't created your profile yet, it's fun! It's writing your own reading autobiography!

I'm a mom and a librarian, and moved a couple of years ago to the south. I'm still getting accustomed to the lack of winter. (Since I'm also a knitting addict, this is a problem!) I've worked for B&N for more than four years, and love it, of course.

I'm looking forward to the group!

And I hope you, Paul, do not think them out of line.  Funny the assumptions we (actually I) make....I figured Paul H was married to Maria H...both B&N adminstrators. Hmmmm.

Wait until I tell Maria that. I'm not sure if she'll laugh or cry!

Hi, new user!

Excited about the book and I hope I get a copy...

This is something I'd probably read anyway, I love any kind of ghost story.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hello!

This is my second First Look adventure.  I found myself quite on the fringes of the last book's discussion so I'm hoping this time around I'll be better able to keep up with so many posts!  I'm still finding the whole book club a bit overwhelming, but I love the prospect of plunging into a new book with so many other readers.

Can't wait to hear that I'll be reading Of Bees and Mist with y'all!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi,

I'm Anne, from New York.

This will be my second First Look book, the first

being Deliverance Dane.  I enjoyed that book, and found the online discussions

interesting, thought provoking, and certainly deepened both my

thinking about the book as I read it and my enjoyment of the read.

I am reading The Believers, which my sister said she read as a First Look, and

am really enjoying it.  I think I may put it aside so that I can recommend it to my book

club, as it is a book that would stimulate many interesting discussion points (too bad I was

not in First Look then-I bet those threads were mighty interesting).

Looking forward to this next book-it looks to be a fascinating one.

Anne

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi, I'm Judy from South Florida.  This will be my 5th FL book, assuming I get my confirmation.  I really love being part of FL.  I enjoy the discussions, especially the Physick Book.  My favorite FL book was The Believers, with the Physick Book a close second and definitely number 1 for the thought-provoking discussion.  I am looking forward to reading Of Bees and Mist.

Thanks everyone for the book recommendations.  I am going to look for Dog on It in the library.

Hey! floreader!!  Where in Florida?  My brother and his family live in Stuart.  Do you enjoy reading those Florida authors?  If you get a chance get Naked Came the Manatee.

Naked Came the Manatee (ISBN 978-0399141928) is a mystery thriller parody novel published in 1996. It is composed of thirteen chapters, each written by a different Miami-area writer. It was originally published as a serial in the Miami Herald 's Tropic magazine, one chapter per issue, and later published as a single novel.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

It's great to see you again, Rachel. Anytime you want to knit for someone in the cold climates, I'll send you some of my sock wool.  Heck I'll even send you pattern books.
