Re: Benji n' Reggie

I loved the way Benji and Reggie reacted in their childhood and early adolescence. Completely together in actions and thoughts as inseparable souls. The metaphor that defines their separation was fantastically used, as refering to a kind of surgery to break/separate their personalities/souls. In life, we know this moment is unavoidable and naturally we have to build up our own personalities and are justly these moments of discoveries the most well focused on the book. Adolescence and its love, sex experiences, the fact of being in a school mainly for white people, cultural differences and face this so challenging world. At the same time we, readers, discover the world of Sag Harbor through Benji's eyes and get fascinated by his enchantment for this dimension.
