Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. On May 1, we’re saying goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi, I'm Jayne from the Connecticut Shoreline.  I am a fifth grade teacher, love to read as a way to relax after a very hectic day, and especially love to talk about books :smileyhappy: !  As the snow continues to fall here, I am looking forward to curling up with Sag Harbor, a cup of tea, and great book discussion! I've marked February 16th on my calendar!  Be back soon.....

Hi,

I'm Susan and I've done five or six of these and have enjoyed every one of them.  A few of the books we read so far have become favorites.  I look forward to the discussions on this book and notice that our start date is coming up quickly - so I hope to get the book soon and will have to get reading!!

I am Stephenie from Iowa and this will be my second First Look discussion.  I've never read Colson Whitehead, but the story looks great.  I'm looking forward to reading and discussing with everyone.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi, my name is Jen and I am a second grade teacher in MA.  I am looking forward to reading this book, it looks interesting.  I have participated in a few First Looks.  I just participated in "A Fortunate Age", however I got behind in reading the postings and, as many of you know, once you get behing it is hard to catch up.  I am hoping to stay on track with this book and participate fully in the discussions.

Hi!  I'm Michelle.  This is my 4th first look book through B&N.  I am an elementary school teacher who wishes she had more time to read.  I try to find a balance between books to challenge me, books to entertain me, and children's books.  I just finished Wuthering Heights for the 3rd time!

I can't wait to read another "adult" book!

I understand what you mean.  I am an elementary school teacher too and I wish I had more time to read as well.

I'm from western Massachusetts and this is my second First Look. I usually read thrillers and I am using these opportunities to expose myself to different genre. Looking forward to get started.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Since I haven't got a confirmation as yet, should I assume I'm not in the club for this book? I thought my introduction was early enough to express my interest but I haven't heard anything as yet, and so many others have heard. Hopefully it is not too late. Would love to know the answer to this.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Where did you look for your confirmation?

In your private message box?  Because one was sent to you on 2-03-2009 at 11:22 AM.
