This is my first "First Look" and I am *so* excited! I found First Look over the weekend, and took a gamble that I might still be able to participate, but good ole B&N sent me the book in the nick o'time, so I get to read along with all of you and join the discussion.
About me--31, single, no kids, lots of books--some in my head just waiting to be written.

This is my first time participating in First Look. I just got my book and I'm excited about starting it. It's a bit off the beaten path from my normal genre of books but I'm looking forward to it. I've read a few pages and I'm hooked already and want to know what happens next. I look forward to a great discussion.

Hello! I'm Valorie and I live in Chesapeake, VA. I have a degree in History, as well as a license to teach secondary school social studies. I am currently in the process of returning to school in order to earn a Master's Degree in History.
This is the first books I have read by Mr. Whitehead. I got my copy two days ago, so I am only a few chapters in. However, I look forward to sharing with that I do know, and more as I read further into the novel.

I just received my copy of Sag Harbor, in the mail today. I've read a few pages and answered the "Who's out?" post, but I am going to finish the first chapter or two before I reply to any more posts.

I'm very new at this AND very excited. I'm not quite sure how to do the postings, but
I guess I can wait until my book arrives. I'm a reading specialist that is currently not being
able to teach reading. They are using me as a speech/language implementer, but with the
language part of my job I get to work with reading a lot.
I have a husband, 2 daughters, a son-in-law, 5 grandsons and 2 dogs. I'm usually at school at least 10 hours a day and when I get home I do what I have to then read. During the day anytime I don't have something that has to be done, I read. I can't get enough.

I've participated in several First Look Books and I love it! Unfortunately, I'm still working on A Fortunate Age, so I'll be getting a late start. I hope to be joining all of you shortly.

Okay, so I recieved my book about two days ago along with coupons from Barnes & Noble....completely made my day!
...about the book, I was actually intrigued by the cover that was sent. Instead of some sort of picture, etc. the authors letter was attached. I'm assuming that this will be changed before the publishcation of the book, but it did catch my eye...I can wait to cuddle up tonight after my boys fall asleep and get deep into reading this novel...have a wonderful day...ciao

I am Saundra and this is my first "first look." I have participated in book clubs but this is my first online experience. I just received the book yesterday so I am feeling a bit behind...fortunately I am a voracious reader so now I just have to make the time (difficult since running my business can get in the way).
I am looking forward to the discussion.

I still haven't gotten my book, but I am anxiously awaiting it. I don't know if my bio posted,
but I'm 51, a reading specialist, library helper, grandmother of 5 boys (whose families are ariv readers) and wife of a reader. Unfortunately, I can't write to save my soul. But I love to
read and this book looks interesting.
Thanks B & N,

I'm from Missouri and have always been here. I'm jealous that you have your book
and can't wait to get mine so I can discuss with everyone.

I am also a teacher, but my speciality is reading. My masters is in reading education, but
I'm currently serving as a speech/language implementer as we can't find a full time speech
pathologist. They say my language background in reading helps and it sure does.
I still don't have my copy so I hope I'm not too far behind in the discussion.
