Re: Let's Get the Word Out: Customer Reviews!

Hi Paul,

How does B&N select books for the First Look Club?  Or for discussion groups in general?

Thanks!

Here is my review of what I must say has been my favorite First Look so far! Can't wait to read more from Katherine Howe, and to see what's next for the First Look club.

I thought this was a fantastic book. I am very grateful that I had a chance to view it first through First Look!

Re: Let's Get the Word Out: Customer Reviews!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed they way Ms. Howe interspersed the interludes with the present day. She gave us a piece of information that made the journey through the book much more interesting and exciting. I have read The Crucible, and other Salem stories, visited Salem, and read the historical accounts, but Ms. Howe's account was fascinating, engrossing and visually effective. I would recommend this book to all readers.

Hi Mooks,

In short, by combing publisher's catalogs, meeting with representatives from those publishers, and reading, reading, reading...

Thanks.

I added a review on LibraryThing as well (in addition to my previously posted B&N review). By the way, everyone, other online book retailers have the book up for sale as a preorder so be sure to look for it everywhere & post reviews!! I've posted a few so far! We need to get the word out!

Re: Let's Get the Word Out: Customer Reviews!

Hello my name is Brenda and I am a member of the First Look Book Club. I have to tell you that it was terribly hard for me to stop reading the book and wait for the discussion time to roll around. I started reading just a bit when it came and the next thing I knew I was putting the finished book down.

I have already lent it to a friend who was very excited, she says she knows she was a witch in a past life and is very sure she will enjoy the ride as much as I did.

Thank you Katherine Howe on the work you did to research a book such as this, I'm sure it was quite a process and you should be abosultely proud of the outcome!  Brenda

Cheers,

Re: Let's Get the Word Out: Customer Reviews!

I posted my review on the BN site. I really enjoyed this book. I am recommending it to my face to face group for when it is on sale. I think the group will love it. Thanks BN for all your efforts to make this site a great place to drop by. Kudos to all.
