We're pleased to announce April's First Look selection, a novel of mystery, intrigue, and revelation, is The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe.
Participants in the First Look Book Club will receive a free advance reading copy, plus the exclusive opportunity to discuss the book with Howe and other readers. Those who receive the free book are expected to participate in the discussion. If you cannot make time for the discussion to be conducted from March 30 to April 24, please do not submit a request for a book.
If you have not yet enrolled, go to this thread for all the details. Quantities are limited, so sign up today. When you receive your enrollment confirmation by private message (not email), go to Rachel's Welcome thread and introduce yourself to your fellow First Look readers. The ARCs will be mailed soon.
Be sure to check this thread often to stay up-to-date on news about this club.
We're thrilled to share this book with you and hope you enjoy the discussion!

Hi all!
The first round of confirmations have gone out. If you sent your request in before 5:00 PM EST on 3-10 and gave us all the info needed, you should have a confirmation awaiting in your private message box right now.
We're working on getting another round out in the next day or two, so stay tuned!

Another round of confirmations have gone out! If you signed up before 8:00 PM on 3-15, you should have a confirmation waiting for you in your PM.
To make sure everyone gets an opportunity to read and discuss this book in the book club, we noticed that there are a couple of users who have requested books in the past, but have never posted to the discussions. We will not be sending them a book this time around.
Thanks!

Hi All,
Here's a schedule for this month's discussion. Please include the "Interludes" with chapters that precede them.
Week One, 3-30: Discussion begins
Part 1, Chapters 1 - 6
Living In Two Times
Mothers And Daughters
Social Constraint and Personal Choice
The Crucible
Week Two, 4-6: Katherine Howe and her editor join the discussion!
Chapters 7 - 14 (Through the end of Part One)
Roles of Women
History and Preservation
Place
Week Three, 4-13: Katherine Howe continues with our group.
Part Two, Chapters 15-21
Arlo
Magic, Religion, And Science
Week Four, 4-20: Katherine Howe continues with the group.
Whole Novel
Academic and Folk Traditions
Cunning and Witchcraft
Final Thoughts
Please keep spoilers (telling what happens later in the story) out of the chapter threads, but know that the character and theme discussions, even in the first weeks, can include the whole book.
Also, please remember that we can't start talking about the novel until our discussion officially begins on the 30th.
Also, some in the group have already suggested adding a thread to discuss Arthur Miller's classic, The Crucible, alongside our current novel, so that discussion thread will go up in the first week for anyone interested!

You will find UPS tracking number for your book in your PM, which you can then use to track the progress of your package from the UPS website. Unfortunately, for those that gave a PO box, we were only able to ship via USPS regular mail, so no tracking for you.
