Re: Thanks and Stay Tuned for the Next First Look Book!

I enjoyed reading this book.  It was very well written and extremely interesting.  Ms. Howe's descriptions were vivid and picturesque.  I hope that the next book will be as enjoyable.

I wish to thank Barnes and Noble for the opportunity to read a great book and the chance to discuss it al the other readers as well as the author.  I congratulate Katherine Howe on a great book and hope there are others to follow. This was my first book in the First Look group and hope it will not be the last.  I'm looking forward to seeing what's next!

From the B&N staff who select the book, to the moderators, author, editor, etc., you provide the opportunity to not only get to know the book but also the author. Thank you. This is an awesome opportunity and I can't wait to see what is next.  :smileywink:

Re: Thanks and Stay Tuned for the Next First Look Book!

This is my first First Look participation and I really enjoyed it.  Thanks for the free book!!  It went right on my shelf with my Salem research.  I loved "meeting" the author.  It was a compelling story and Katherine Howe's 1692 Salem was right on.   I look forward to the next book.

Thanks again to Barnes and Noble for another great First Look book!  Thank you to Katherine Howe for sharing her book with us!  Thank you to Rachel for all of the insightful questions!  thank you to all the other First Look members for sharing your thoughts and making me see things that I would not have noticed and introducing me to new ideas!  It's been a fun discussion and I can't wait to find out what the next First look book will be!

Inside and out, this was my favorite FL Book so far.  I appreciate the opportunity B&N offers with this program.  I will be posting a very positive review and wish Ms. Howe the best of luck when it hits the market.

Re: Thanks and Stay Tuned for the Next First Look Book!

Thanks to Katherine Howe for her great book. I love it. I can hardly wait for the next First Look book. I love this club. It gives you a chance to read good books. I recommended this book to my library director and she is going to see about getting it for the library I work at.

I told her that it was very good and that I highly recommend it.

I can't wait until Ms. Howe next book comes out. I am going to be sure to get it. I am sure that it will be as good as this first book. I think Ms. Howe has a wonderful talent for telling stories and will be a great writer.

A belated thanks to B & N & Katherine for the opportunity to read & discuss this wonderful book.   Thanks as well to everyone who posted & made the reading experience insightful & more rewarding than it otherwise would have been reading the book alone.

I agree with you Sylvia, I found this FL selection to be the best so far!

I just wanted to let fellow Sag Harbor readers know that the book received a favorable review in the Boston Globe this morning.

Re: Thanks and Stay Tuned for the Next First Look Book!

I can't wait for next First Look. Thanks BN and Katherine Howe for the great opportunity and the enjoying of a wonderful book like this. First looks gives me the opportunity to do a thing that I most like: reading. Secondly, discussing books. This book gave me chance to research and study points of American History, things about witchcraft which I like very much and think are very interesting since I was a child. I have a suggestion for this book discussion or even other First Looks: we shouldn't stop discussions even if there's another book being discussed. Perhaps not with the same frequency but ocasionally adding something essential to the whole comprehension of the book until it's released. Don't let Physick book's discussion die now! I had some troubles with my book arrival and my father got sick during discussions but I didn't give up on my reading. Thanks for all!

Not to worry. We're going to keep at least some parts of this great discussion open as we lead up to the publication of Deliverance Dane.

Re: Thanks and Stay Tuned for the Next First Look Book!

I am excited to hear that the discussion will remain open. I was not able to keep up with the posts during the last section of the book, now I have time to catch up and comment. This is a great book to recommend as a light summer read. While I learned a little history, it was an easy book to get through. I greatly enjoyed this First Look book and wish the author lots of success with the publication.
