Robb, Danielle Steel, Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Stephanie Laurens, Victoria Alexander, Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Mary Balough, Catherine Coutler, Diana Galbaldon, Jayne Ann Krentz, Amanda Quick, Patricia Cornwell, Sue Graton, Kay Hooper, Tami Hoag, Celeste Bradley, Lynn Kurkland, Richard North Patterson, Cathy Maxwell, Sabrina Jefferies, Samantha James, and many others.

I also have written four romance that I want to get published. I have also written some articles that I would like to get published in GuidePosts magazine. They are of a religious nature.

I am very lucky. I work at the local library, part-time. This is a dream come true. I am want take more online classes. I have taken some where I got a certificates, mostly in writing and a few in health industry as I am also a CNA. I want to get another bachelor's degree in library science and writing. I am planning on taking some more online classes in grant writing and library science to help me in my job.

I enoy sharing my love of books with anyone who likes to read. I recommend books to patrons at our library.

I think this forum will be interesting.

I'm with you there.  The past few FL books haven't appealed to me nearly as much as the earlier ones.  I'm hoping this one will be more interesting.  I just have trouble with endless angst books.  Sometimes I just want to slap the characters and tell them to grow up.

Hi!  My name is Jen and I am a second grade teacher in Massachusetts.  I have been a part of many First Looks, the last one being "Sag Harbor".  I was going to take a break from the First Look Club, but this book caught my interest and attention.  I hope that I am part of this discussion and I know it will be a good one.  See you all when the discussion starts!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everyone,  I'm Carolyn and this will hopefully be my 5th First Look book.  I love this book club.  It's a way of reading books that I might not have thought of reading otherwise.  I don't know that much about Salem's history, but look forward to learning more.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi All,

My name is Barb and I'm back for my second FL book.  My first, Sag Harbor was not quite my cup of tea, although interesting, but I am really looking forward to this new read!

I read (usually have something nonfiction, something fiction and who knows what else going on at the same time), knit for charity (preemies and animal shelters) and work full-time.

I live in Pittsburgh and work at a nature reserve as the office manager.

Thanks to B&N, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to share in this experience.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I just got my confirmation email! Can't wait to get the book and start reading! I live in Perkasie PA which is 30 miles north of Phildelphia just below Quakertown and Allentown.

Love to read and really enjoyed "Sag Harbor". I am currently reading "The Colossus of New York" also by Colson Whitehead. Very interesting look at New York. "I love New York" - my dad worked for the Pennsylvania (Amtrak) Railroad and we took many trips by train to New York. We saw many broadway shows and my favorite place to eat is Marchi's Restaurant located at 251 E 31st St. - Great Italian food - like eating at your Italian best friend's home.

I am really enjoying the First Look bookclub - this will be my 3rd book!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi!  My name is Laura and I live on the south coast of Maine.

Historical fiction is my favorite genre, so this book should be right up my alley.

I read Dorcas Good: The Diary of a Salem Witch a few years ago and The Lace Reader a few months ago, and am eager to add The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane to my list of books I have read that are set in Salem.

Hello! My name is Amy and I'm joining from California. This if my first FL book and I'm so excited!  I'm a 33-yr-old full-time working mom of a ten-month-old baby. I have worked around books for ten years and currently work in an academic library. I love finding out about new books for Reader Advisory.  I'm also a member of a local mom book club so this could be a great addition to our list!

Looking forward to interacting with everyone.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Whoo Hoo! Got my confirmation! (happy dance)

Ok hmm, introductions. I'm TB and live in Virgina.

Was very happy to see this book pop up. "oh finally something worth going for in first look!"  Really looking forward to it. It should be fun.

Sorry for the lack of personal information, I answer those generally, directly if at all. So feel free to ask, (chuckle) you just might not get an answer. But hey, a lot of you know me already anyway.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

[ Edited ]

I just got my confirmation. I have participated several times before and I do appreciate the opportunity to participate in these great book discussions. When the author comes on and discusses it with us, it adds a whole new dimension to the reading!

Currently, I am in Florida where the weather has been beyond wonderful. Before hurricane season begins I will return to Cape Cod, which is my favorite place to be. People are more relaxed and genuine there, I think, and I just love it. I don't mean to knock Florida or the people, it is just more programmed here and it is hard to do things with friends, impromptu, because they are always over-programmed. I prefer a more relaxing, spur of the moment lifestyle which, at least on the surface, is far less materialistic in focus.:smileyhappy:
