Re: Welcome and Introductions

[ Edited ]

Hi my name is Katelyn,

I'm an English Major pursuing a concentration in creative writing. I just got my confirmation, so I'll be lucky enough to be joing all of you in this discussion. This will be my third First Look, and my experience with the program has been wonderful. I look forward to reading this book in between all my shakespeare, poetry, and old english that I am currently reading.

Katelyn

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everyone!

I'm Marcílio, a Brazilian professor. This is one of my several First looks. I love participating of the discussions in the book clubs mainly those which are classic. I love historical books mainly those whose subject is witches. I'm still reading A fortunate age (last chapters) and Sag Harbor and have a lot of ideas to introduce in the discussions this week.

I hope this discussion be very productive. I didn't reveive my confirmation yet. Did anyone have the same problem as me?

See you there!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi All, My name is Talea & I'm from Kansas. My appetite for reading is insatiable & I sometimes consume several books a week. Subject matter is wide & varied but I have to say that historical mysteries are a favorite. The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane sounds like it's going to be a great story & just my type of reading.

This is my second First Look Book Club. I participated in the House at Riverton Book Club many months ago. I'm embarassed to say that I didn't do a very good job in participating. I & my husband are renovating a historical church & that book came during one of our renovation disaster time frames. :smileysad: I also found the threads a little confusing & hard to keep up with. I'm happy to say that the renovations have settled a bit & First Look has made some really great changes to the boards. I've promised myself some ME time so I'm really geared up & looking forward to participating this time.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everyone, it's nice to see we have some new names in with the old.  I have been a participant in all of the First Look books, except for the one where they had two going at one time.  I hated to have to pick, I'm always sure I made the wrong choice.

My name is Tarri and I live in rainy Washington state.  I read anything and everything and can find something to enjoy in almost every book.  In fact, the only book I couldn't finish was One Hundred Years of Solitude, and believe me I tried.

I am retired and just waiting for the rain to stop long enough to take the new lawn mower out for a spin.   Barring that, I hope my book arrives soon.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

good to see you Tarri!  I was in the Sag Harbor FirstLook and loved it.  I also read a lot of the reviews for the other offering and from what I can see, I don't think there WAS a bad decision to be made this time around.  Looks to me like they were both great! :-)

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi Rachel et all! I'm Julie. I'm married with 2 children under 4 and work a full time job. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and this is my 3rd First Look Book Club. I've really enjoyed the club and the variety of subjects we've gotten to read about. This one looks very interesting and intriguing.

I can't wait to get the book and join in on the discussion.

Hi Patti,

Be sure that you registered according to the instructions that can be found in the initial post at How to Get Your Free Reading Copy and Enroll in the Discussion [URL]

Also, once registered, it takes up to a week to receive confirmation.  To my knowledge there have been no books sent or received at this point in time.

Hope this helps ;-)
