Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi Everyone!

I am Claudia and am delighted to be back again.  I only missed out on the first two First Looks.  I was unable to participate in the Sag Harbor discussions due to nasty germs delivered to me by my delightful seventh graders!! (Flu and bronchitis!)  I am much better now, but am still not able to plow through Sag Harbor - guess it is just not my cup of tea.  I am really looking forward to the Physick Book of Deliverance Dane.  I just received my confirmation.  School work will be at a minimum the next few weeks - we are preparing for state mandated testing in 2 weeks, a week of testing, then SPRING BREAK!  Books and free reading here I come!!:smileyvery-happy:

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi, everybody!

I am very excited, I just got my confirmation for The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane!  I have done several of the First Look books with Barnes & Noble, I always enjoy reading the book. I love to read, read all the time. I live in West Texas and I am a junior high school librarian. Our kids are totally into the Twilight books right now.  Can't wait!:smileyvery-happy:

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everyone!  I'm Debs and I'm confirmed!  I live just outside Nashville, Tennessee and am currently the director of a private preschool and also the pre-k teacher.  Besides reading any and everything I can get my hands on, I enjoy spending time with my grandson, Jay, who is the best and smartest little boy in the whole world and my brand new grandaughter, Marlow, who is absolutely beautiful.  I live with my wonderful hubbyluv, my youngest daughter (who is now driving so beware), two doggies and two kitties.

I'm really looking forward to reading The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane.  I had a very hard time with the last FL book I read (Fortunate Age)...this one sounds so much  more interesting!  I can't wait to receive my book!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I'm SandyS from Lake Minnetonka, MN but am currently spending the winter in Wewahitchka, FL.

This is my 5th or 6th First Look and am truly grateful for the opportunity.  I live almost an hour from any big city or bookstore when I'm in FL so B&N online keeps me sane.

I look forward to a different kind of read.  First Look's alway push me to try something new.

I am new to First Look.  A friend from my online book club recommended First Look because the newest selection is about Salem.  I am descended from Susannah Martin and John Proctor, two of 19 hanged for witchcraft in Salem in 1692.  I can't wait to receive my copy and read and comment.  Thanks!!

I am from Dallas, TX and am a mom, grandmom and passionate zoo volunteer.

I just got my PM. I hope you enjoy this book and the whole "first look" experience.

My name is Bonnie and I have participated in all but the first of these first look book discussions. I have no witchy descendents, but do live near the southern version of "Salem" which was a Moravian community. I am married, a mother of 3 grown (ish) kids, an animal lover, a school psychologist, and an avid reader. I'm surprised we're starting this so soon- I will have 2 bookclub books to read in March now, along with a huge library book that oddly just came in!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hey, I am Dawn from the great state of Tennessee (although my heart is in NOLA). Am a 40ish mother of  a wonderful, patient, understanding, only son who recently married a lovely woman. Have been involved in most first look clubs and have been enlightened, although not necessarily, entertained, by all.

Am excited about this book. Should arrive soon, since the formal discussions begin on March 30th!

Must say it is wonderful to be in a "place" where everyone understands my excitement over a new book. Most of my friends (Debs excluded) just don't get it!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi!

I'm Lori, and I live just south of Seattle, WA.  I am an avid reader, and I have a huge collection of books that won't quit.  Not only do I re-read my books several times, but I am constantly adding new books to my collection.  I just received a message that my ARC will be on its way in the next few days, and I can hardly wait to start reading Katherine Howe's new book! I've been in on several of the previous ARCs, but this is the first book that I think I can really sink my teeth into.  Not only is it an historical fiction, but there are the elements of mystery and magic.  I sure hope I'm not disappointed!

Re: HI

Re: HI

Debbie, I went in an deleted the private messages. I think this will solve the problem. I am seriously considering canceling my whole memebership in the book club. I am getting frustrated because I can't seem to get any answers as to what is going on with the First Look book. I sign in on Sat and still have not got a confirmation message.

What should I do?

I did what the message said and I got nothing.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hello. My name is Beth and this is my fourth time participating in First Look. I love historical fiction, so The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane looks like it will be a very intersting read. I am excited to receive my book and get started. :smileyhappy:
