Hi, I'm Jennifer. Also a huge mystery fan. I started off as a kid with Nancy Drew and Encyclopedia Brown, reading under the covers with a flashlight.
Now I read all kinds of mysteries: police procedurals, amateur sleuths, hard-boiled, you name it. The Poacher's Son sounds interesting -- not the kind of thing I might pick up on my own, but I'm always game to try something new and I love supporting debut authors.
Looking forward to the group!

Hi Anthony! I'm in cold and gloomy Cincinnati, hoping the sun will come out today. I'm looking forward to this, also -- it will be my first time with a First Look book!

Yeah folks it might be her first time at FL, but check out the mystery club here and B&N and you'll see just how much this lady likes her who-done-its.
She's a fabulous moderator.

Aww, Debbie, that was sweet of you. Yes, I'm a huge mystery fan. Read my first one at age 8 - and I recently found a copy of the book on ebay, which was cool! Quickly moved on to Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, Judy Bolton, the Hardy Boys and Beverly Gray. I especially enjoyed the Alfred Hitchcock, Ellery Queen, Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov and Twilight Zone short story anthologies.
I discovered Agatha Christie when I was 15, and not long after that added Mary Stewart, Dorothy Eden, Helen MacInnes, Anya Seton, Phyllis A. Whitney, Alistair MacLean, Charlotte Armstrong and Doris Miles Disney to my regular reading list. About that same time I also discovered police procedurals - by Ed McBain, Dell Shannon, John Creasey and others.
My habit has always been to find an author I like and read everything they've written. I continue to read by author, which means I sometimes miss a new entry to the Mystery field. I'm glad to find this debut author before anyone else has the chance!

I'm Tina,(aka Mainelady) retired librarian living in Maine just down the road from Down East magazine so I'm really excited about this book, and sure hope I get chosen to participate. I love to read, and review books that I do read. I have my own book blog at Tutu's Two Cents where I chat about books ---particularly mysteries that I've read. In January I managed to read 23 books, 9 of them mysteries. This group looks like it will be lots of fun

Let me clarify - despite my "moderator" tag, I'm not the moderator for THIS board. As Debbie has mentioned, I moderate Mystery. I also moderate Garden -- stop by and visit me sometime. Here, I'm an eager participant.

Hi, I'm Bonnie and just confirmed. I have done most of the first looks and am thrilled to be getting ready to read another one. ![]()
The thing I love about them the most is the author participation I think.
I am a school psychologist in North Carolina, married, with 3 nearly grown kids (in college in California, Massachusetts and here in NC), two dogs, two cats.
I love to read and read a variety of genre's, though mostly novels with some if not a lot of romance- paranormal, historical, suspense.

Hi,
My name is Kathy. I love reading books - any books. This is my first B&N book club and am really looking forward to the experience.
I've recently moved to Albuquerque, NM from a small town in SD. Being somewhat overwhelmed by the number of people I am surrounded by since my move, I find that I escape quite frequently to my library.
I can't wait to get started on "The Poachers Son". It looks like a great read!

Hi! I'm Lisa, a SAHM of 3 and I live in a suburb of the Twin Cities. I enjoy mysteries immensely and I'm hoping I get to be involved with this First Look selection. This is my first involvement with a book club so I'm excited to be a part of this group. I heard about this on my Facebook page.
Thank you, Paul, for hosting!
