Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi my name is Mary and this is going to hopefully be my very first book club. I was born and raised in L.A. and am just about to turn 30.  I am very excited and can't wait to start reading the book and ever more excited about the discussions.

Hi,

I am Brian.  I am 42, married and live in Central Florida near Disney.  I am looking forward to being a member of this club and getting to read and discuss the books we are given.  I was a middle school science/history teacher until having to retire early due to a medical condition.  I am mostly housebound so this is a great opportunity for me to have something interesting to do during the day and have some additional social contact with the outside world.  I can't wait to get started!!!

HI Brian!  (and Brandon felt he was the only male.... lol)

Glad to have you here!  I am sorry that you are housebound, but I think you will like the group here!  We are not middle-schooler's bet we can act like it if you wish!

Enjoy!

Hi Monica!

Glad you could join us!  You will enjoy this group; there are lots of 'experienced' first lookers here, and lots of newbies I am glad to see!

I still think I qualify as the only male under 30 in here. Anyway, I'm glad to be here and am looking forward to sharing this book with y'all and everyone's ideas. :smileyhappy:

You know, I REALLY did not need to know this. I would rather be at the beach reading myself! So yeah, I am jealous!

Hi!  I'm Laura and I live on the south coast of Maine.  I am becoming a regular in the First Look discussions.  The book choices have been great and I love reading what everyone has to say.

Historical fiction is my favorite genre, so I am really looking forward to October's selection.  Talk to you all then!
