Re: Welcome and Introductions

Welcome to First Look, Juliet! Best wishes as you begin home schooling. I'm glad you joined us. :smileyhappy:

Hello all! I'm Juliet, a stay at home mommy of two kids (8 years old and 4 years old). This will (hopefully) be my first FL participation. I recently quit my job of 12 years to stay home and homeschool my kids, so this will be perfect for some "me" time. I look forward to getting to know you all. I've never met another avid reader I didn't like.

Hiya Debbie and thanks! I went to UC High, and yes, isn't it funny? I've know native St. L's who refuse to answer that one.

And I agree with you, the party hasn't started here in FL until I see Donna's first warm welcome posted!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi, I'm Tina from NE PA. I'm a teacher headed back to school soon! I've signed up, but haven't been confirmed yet. If confirmed, this will be my second FL--the first was the ebook The Writing Circle, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This book sounds like one I'd really enjoy!

Note about confirmations

Hi all,

Remember that the process of sending out confirmations  isn't automated. It can take several days! Don't worry.

Hi, my name is Darcy and I live in Portland, Oregon.  I retired last fall and have been able to devote a LOT more time to one of my passions - reading.  I belong to a book club that a friend and I started six years ago, and this seems like a fun way to appease that book club addiction of mine.  I'm totally new to this, but ready for anything.  Admittedly, the temptation of getting a new book for a "first look" was too much to resist and I'm looking forward to finding new discoveries in my mailbox each month - and new bibliophile friends at the B&N Community.

Welcome Darcy!  This is indeed a fun way to fill your addiction. :-)   BOTL for the Big Brown truck!!  When the 1st person get theirs, it really gets exciting.  I feel honored to be a part of new books and authors!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hello All--

This will be my second first look participation.  I truly enjoyed the last one and am very glad I read that book in the club or I would have missed a lot.

Looking forward to the discussion with everyone here and looking forward to another great read!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Ello, I'm Misty a 25 yr old from Florida. I work in a hospital and reading is my escape from it all. This will be my first FL and online bookclub, so hoping it'll be fun! I'm looking forward to stashing my Nook in the purse and hauling Forgiveness around for those rare breaks instead :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi My name is Jo and this will be my 6th book in First Look. I must admit that I subscribed to the last email book and that was the first time that I did not read a book in the club. I couldn't figure out how to do it easily and didn't really want to read it on my computer, so you might say I copped out. I did feel guilty. Now I plan to get involved again and I'm looking forward to this new read. All of the past books have been very enjoyable and i expect that this will be also. I'm not sure if the plot summary is about my kind of book, but one of the nice things about First look is that it takes you out of the same old category of books you usually read.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everyone!   MY name is Beth and I am a chiropractor and mom to two who will both be in college this fall.  I am looking forward to something good to keep my mind occupied and kept from mooning over the loss of my youngest.  I have participated in many FL book discussions and have thoroughly enjoyed both the books and the insightful and stimulating discussions.  I hope everyone enjoys the last bits of the summer and I will see you all in the fall.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi!

I just signed up for Wake of Forgiveness. I hope I made it in time.

I have 2 kids with one going to college this year. Kind of scary to know your child is that old!

I love to read and would read every day if I could. Look forward to the discussions.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi Cheryl, I'm Gail (Kittysmom) and I am waiting for my confirmation as well, I try to be patient but it's really not working.  It;s nice to meet you and I hope we all enjoy the book and enjoy chatting!

I'm from Western Massachusetts and reading is a way for me to break away from everyday life in the heat we've had this summer/it's nice and relaxing!

Thank you for that reassuring pat on the shoulder, Rachel!   I sent in my request late in the evening on Monday because I was tied up all day in airports, and when there was still no confirmation this morning, I started to get nervous that I was too late!   I have really enjoyed being a part of FL and will try to still my nervous heart for a few more days  ;-)
