Re: Welcome and Introductions

Just signed up. This looks like a great read. I love the cover -- horses are my thing, so this is perfect. Can't wait to read it.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everyone!  I just learned about First Look and am excited to participate.  I love reading and have wanted to join a book club for a while now, but I recently moved to a new state and have not found a club to join yet.  I am grateful for the chance to do this virtually and also to experience a new book and author.

I guess I'm not sure I'm in until I get a confirmation, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hey! I'm Danielle from NJ but live in Chicago.

I thoroughly enjoy this book club! This will be my 7th FL book and I have enjoyed them all immensely except for two. From reading other's responses I think its safe to say that for those of us that participated in the last discussion and who didn't have Nooks weren't too keen on the idea. It was more difficult than I thought it would be to keep up, BUT now that we are back in business with the "traditional" method I think we all will enjoy it this time.

I think others might agree with me when I say the feeling that I get from seeing the UPS truck show up outside of my house with a little brown package is very exhilarating and fun!! It always seems like Christmas to me when I get a new book!

Happy Reading,

Danielle

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I just signed up for this book and it sounds pretty interesting, can hardly wait for delivery.  New to this club and still trying to figure things out.  I am an avid reader and very involved in our library.

Greetings!  I just put in a request to participate. Think it would be fun to be chosen. I am a single, childless female in her mid thirties living in the Midwest. I work in the medical field and obviously love to read! I've never been in a book club before and have always wanted to join one, so this really seems like an interesting opportunity! Although this does not define me, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and celebrated my one month surgery anniversary yesterday. My prognosis is excellent and will start radiation mid to late August. I have cleared my calendar of all non work related items, but I know that I can participate in this!

Well wishes to you.  Your positive attitude will make this unpleasant experience so much more bearable.  It's good that you will have time to read and comment on this new read.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi! My name is Sheryl and I live in NC. I moved here several years ago from California and absolutely love it here! I adore reading and have always loved it. I have spent many nights NOT sleeping.. but reading one of those books you just cannot put down. If I get selected for this First Look (which will be my first), I'm looking forward to reading this book because of the historical aspect of it.

I love all kinds of books.. but mostly get into either historical fiction or mystery/suspense/drama genre. But in reality... I've read all sorts of books across all genres! Good writing is good writing! :-) My brother has even gotten me to read some sci-fi.

Thanks!

Sheryl

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hello everybody,

I am Gisela from Northern California, retired and always willing to join another First Look conversation.

I read, I write, I knit, I photograph, I travel, I pull weeds. That sums up my life. As for knitting, last month I finished knitting my 200th teddy bear for the Mother Bear Project (teddy bears for HIV/Aids infected children in Africa and other places) and will resume with bear #201 in September. On Thursday I am going to travel to the Greek Islands and Turkey to take lots of photos of ruins. The weeds will have to wait until I return home.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi all! My name is Ashley and I was in the Monsters of Templeton FLBC but I got bogged down with university. I am 22 and just recently graduated with a bachelors in history. :smileyhappy: I hope to work in the publishing field and I think this will be a great way to spend my free time.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hey All,

My name is Robyn.  I am from Dallas, Texas and 30 years old.  I have a huge appetite for books.  Sometimes I get so lost in the story that I feel a explosion can go off beside me and I wouldn't know.  I read about 1 book a day.  I am in between jobs since the beginning of the summer so the extra time has helped feed my addiction.  I have never participated in a First Look but hopefully I will get to join this one.  I can't wait!!!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mike and I live in Western Massachusetts with my wife Donna (aka) DSaff, and our dog Oscar.  I have been involved with most of the First Look selections from the beginning and previous to that I was involved in the Barnes & Noble University.  I do miss that program.

I look forward to reading "The Wake of Forgiveness" as it looks like it is going to be a great read and I also look forward to the discussions with old friends and new as well.

My name is Bonnie.  I am a married lady of 30 years and I live in the panhandle of Florida.  I have just signed up for this 1st Look.  I have really enjoyed the previous ones I have been involved with.  I have enjoyed the books and the discussions.  It's nice to see new faces and comforting to see familiar ones.  I'm looking forward to curling up with a good book in my nicely air conditioned home.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hello from Minnesota, where it's very hot and humid today!  I have participated in First Look books before, but have missed the past couple. I think Wake of Forgiveness looks like it will be good and hope I get in on this one.
