The book will be in your B&N ebook library in a couple of weeks.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hello! My name is Michelle. I live in Connecticut with my fiance and our two cats. I've never been a part of a book club because I am a bit too shy to attend one in person and was unaware they existed online. I had no idea First Look even existed until last week when I was researching the Nook and found it by accident!

I don't have a Nook but am considering purchasing one in June. I'm not one to spend more than $20 on myself though, so I'm testing my eyes by reading The Writing Circle (which sounds lovely, by the way) on my laptop. If I have trouble getting through this book because of my laptop screen, I'll probably end up with a Nook so I don't go crazy next time. :]

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi - I am Kristine and I live in Northern Illinois with my husband, two teenage daughters, 3 dogs, 1 cat and a gerbil.  I love to read - I am the type who will really read the back of the cereal box rather than sit there with nothing to read!  This will be my first FL and I am excited about it.  I do own a Nook and I love it!  I also own many, many shelves of "regular" books and I love those too.  Looking forward to meeting you all.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I'm very pleased to be participating in this first look program. I don't have a reading device, but I do read books on my computer and enjoy it. I spend time in both Florida and Pennsylvania, so being able to take books with me on the computer is an advantage. Lugging even paperbacks gets pretty heavy.

Can't wait to get started!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi again everyone!  My name is Christina and I am a wife, mother, and nurse living in central NJ.  I can't wait to begin another great discussion with FL.  This one should be interesting with the digital version.  I have yet to buy (or receive) a nook but have read a couple of e-books on my laptop.  I still enjoy reading them but just love the way the paper book feels in my hands!!  I am just finishing up a busy school semester and look forward to taking the break and spending some time discussing this book with you all.  It looks great!

[ Edited ]

Hi - My name is Joy - I live in a town just outside of Raleigh, NC with my husband and three kids. In addition to being the stay at home mom (chauffer, cook, laundress, maid, personal shopper, accountant, etc) I also own my own portrait photography business.

I graduated NC State Univ with a English/Technical Writing degree...literature has always been my first love. When we started our family, as it usually happens, I had less time to devote to my love of reading. That was until Christmas this past year. Since then I've read anything I could get my hands on and that included using my netbook as an e-reader. I couldn't get enough! I always thought I was the reader that needed to have the books in my hands - but when I could get them faster by downloading, my ideas changed. Then, for my birthday in April I got a NOOK! LOVE IT!!!! Can't say enough good things about it...and I actually don't miss the actual book like I thought I would. Having a cover for it makes it more "book-like" - just got to say to those of you hesitant - see if you can borrow someone's ....you might just be surprised!

This is the first time I've belonged to an official book club - basically now that the kids are older and my love of reading has been renewed...I'm finally finding the time for activities such as this and I'm looking forward to enhancing this renewed love of reading even more!

proud owner of the Nook - never thought I could live without my REAL book in my hands...pleasantly surprised!!

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hello,

I'm Kathy.  Wife, mother of two beautiful adult daughters, grandmother to two delightful grandchildren, and pet owner of two great pets.  Two seems to be my number, except only 1 husband for going on 35 years.  I was retired for a short time but am back working.  I work in the field of autism spectrum disorders.  My short list of hobbies, passions- past family, friends and work- are reading and knitting.  I have had the opportunity to participate in several of the First Look selection discussions.  I look forward to another, they are always good novels and I have very much enjoyed the comments from other readers.  I am wondering how I will like reading a book on my computer (don't have a nook or similar device).  I love handling a book and marking passages, so this will be a new experience.  Looking forward to the next few weeks with all of you.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everyone,

My name is Jeannie. I live in southwestern IL with my husband and two young (ages 6 and 3) kids. This is my first time doing first look or any online book club, so I am excited to be joining in. I was lucky enough to pre-order my nook back before Christmas and have had it since December, I love being able to have all sorts of books on one device and can take it anywhere. I have been a book worm pretty much my whole life and I am hopefully passing on my love of books to my children, I do work full time in addition to my family responsibilities so I hope I can keep up with the reading schedule and discussions for this book.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi, I'm Bonnie and I've been in most but not all of the first look discussions. I'm 52, married to a retired AF man, the mother of 3 almost grown children, and work as a school psychologist.

I love to read. I love internet groups and message boards. I also hobby write with an online group, so this sounded like a perfect way to try out e-book reading again. I have read a few free online books, but tended to skim tbh. I am considering an e-reader this summer (birthday maybe?) but am not sure I would enjoy it as much as I love real books. We'll see I guess.

Well hello everyone. My name is Joey.

Quick question: are there any other guys in here? Just wondering....

Sounds like an interesting book, that's why I joined. Looking forward to it.

Oh, and I have a nook, and I was confirmed.
