Hi everyone!

Thanks for making me feel so welcomed!!!  I'm so anxious; still no confirmation but that's okay as I have an eight page final paper due on Friday for my Philosophy class.  Can't wait to get started though!  Enjoy your Mondays!

Hi there!  I'm Carolyn from northern Virginia.  I am really excited about this latest pick.  I have really enjoyed reading and discussing the FL books, some more than others.  The best thing about this club is the chance to read something outside my comfort zone.  I probably never would have thought about reading Physick Book of Deliverance Dane without this club, and I loved the book and discussion!

I agree.  Deliverance Dane was the other FL book discussion which I participated in.  I didn't take the time then to read all of the introductions.  I am reading them this time.  I am liking the diversity of this group of readers.  I am also liking getting to know a little about all of you.

I also have pets- a dog and a cat- who are usually curled up beside me as I read.  I have to beautiful adult daughters, one of which is a voracious reader and believes that I am her personal library.  She was here yesterday and took home three books from my stack of to be reads.

I look forward to our discussions.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi everyone, hopefully I'll get my confirmation soon. This will be my 4th book in First Look and I'm really looking forward to having a new summer book to enjoy. The club has been so much fun and really does enhance my enjoyment of each book. My name is Jo and I live in Westchester, N.Y. I am working full time and find that having a book to read that is enjoyable is one of life's great pleasures. I have two grown daughters, one in college and one who just graduated. My husband and I have had the pleasure of both girls being with us this summer but soon at the end of summer they'll each be off again.  I so loved Of Bees and Mist. It has been my favorites so far but I enjoyed Sag Harbor alot as well. Can't wait to begin again with this new book...

Re: Welcome and Introductions

This is my third First Look book. The time period and the location intrigues me in the book write up. I live in Minnesota. I love to read with my 2 dogs laying by me, a Standard Poodle and a Japanese Chin. I am looking forward to the discussion.

I love historical fiction, so I know that Under This Unbroken Sky will be right up my alley.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

Hi, I can't remember if I introduced myself before or not.  I'm Sharon also known as Quiltgranny everyone online.  I eat, I quilt, I read, I sleep, then repeat as needed!  LOL!  I am an avid reader, and I usually read a book every couple of days or so.  I always reward my day with at least an hour of reading each night before bed, no matter how late that might be.  I've discovered so many places in the world and so many cultures through reading.  I've also made many friends through books alone.  I'm so looking forward to this selection, and the ensuing discussion!

Hi all, I am Rebecca from Alabama. I work at Auburn University in Bioenergy and we are very busy right now. I am a book addict and have them everywhere. It would be a shame to waste a minute that I could be reading. Looking forward to reading and discussing.

Re: Welcome and Introductions

I received my confirmation today - hip hip hooray!  Thanks Paul!

I took The Sister out of the library yesterday.  It was one of the earlier First Look books.  I want to read the earlier FL's from before I found out about this wonderful club.  The Sister seems a little creepy based on the description, but that's part of what I love about First Look - trying out books you might ordinarily not think of reading.
